There is a bus nearby to go to Karato Market the next day👍🏻I appreciate the friendly attitude of the front counter staff, who also tried their best to communicate with us in English and a translator. "The room is good, you can overlook the Guanmen Strait Bridge (part of it), close to the entrance and exit of the Guanmen Strait Tunnel, it is more convenient to go to the closed department. There is a hot spring bath, relieve fatigue, and the staff is warm and thoughtful. Breakfast is rich and delicious, and there is free beer ice cream 🍺🍦"

It is located very close to tourist spots such as Mimosuso River Park in Dannoura the Kanmon Tunnel Human Entrance and the Hinoyama Ropeway stop and is easily accessible from Shimonoseki City Explore Shimonoseki including historic places delicious food unique shops interesting people and more
Mannaoshi and Kinkei are delicious and recommended
Its a 6minute walk to Akama Shrine which is associated with the Genpei War and an 11minute walk to Karato Market
There is an aquarium called Kaikyokan near Karato Market There are several restaurants where you can enjoy local food such as conveyor belt sushi so you might want to check it out From the port near Karato Market you can also take a sightseeing boat to Moji Port and go to Ganryu Island the site of the duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro

GGuest UserThis was a good option if you want to visit the fish market and walk through the underground pedestrian tunnel. It is located near the metro and a bus station is located out front that will take you to the locations. A mall is located next to the hotel which has plenty of eating options. Room was small but very clean. Very helpful front desk. Good option.

The room facilities are convenient (without stairs) to suit my usage as a person with walking difficulties.
I especially love the ensuite onsen bath with beautiful ocean view.

YYifan63I booked a small double room at Domi Shimonoseki more than three months in advance on Ctrip.com for one person. The hotel is very close to Shimonoseki Station. The transportation is also convenient. The room is clean. It is just right for one person, but a bit crowded for two people. Free ramen is served from 9:30 pm and is very delicious. Coffee and tea are served in the lobby. When I booked on Ctrip.com, the room was more than 400 yuan per room. When I checked online a week before the hotel, I found that it had risen to more than 700 yuan per room. I made a lot of money.

GGuest UserThis is not the Hotel in the photo added. The hotel is a reasonable Japanese style business hotel. The staff were very kind and friendly and tried to help us with the booking problem cause by Trip.com. The booking agency (Trip.com) had booked us as 6 guests and charged us accordingly. We were 4 adults and one child and were overcharged by Trip.com by 1/3 of the price (about 10,000 yen). The hotel staff were helpful but they couldn't do anything as this was a mistake by the agents not the hotel. I will be contacting Trip.com to ask for a refund of the amount they charged us in error.

GGuest UserSmile Hotel Shimonoseki is right next to the JR station. Walk to the right and follow the station for two minutes. The JR station building is also the Daimaru Shopping Center. From the basement to the fourth floor are shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Buses 1 to 4 go to Karato Market. The seafood restaurants in Karato Market sell cheap salmon sashimi. Shimonoseki is a historic place and worth a visit.

GGuest UserThe room is clean and tidy and fully furnished. Towels are too old. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal, simple and clean, okay.
Very close to Xiaguan Railway Station, convenient for transportation and shopping.
There is a shop a few steps to the left of the hotel. The sashimi is delicious. Many locals come to eat it. The price is not expensive. Please post the photo of the shop for reference.

CCurious TravellerUnbeatable location with many rooms ( or all rooms) and public spaces facing Tsunoshima Bridge. Our room faced the ocean directly with no obstruction. The bath was also quite decent and the outdoor bath is next to the sea. You can enjoy the sound of the waves while bathing in the hot spa. It should be quite spectacular during sunset. The spa was probably renovated within the last 10 years as it was in good condition.
The room , however, felt old and the corridor was damp. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room felt stuffy. The AC worked well and we turned it on high. Our triple room as spacious but I felt itchy the whole night while sleeping- although the sheets looked clean ( I slept on the added bed). The other two beds looked slumped in the middle.
Bathroom also looked quite old( from the 70’s)?
My room was at the far end wing and there were lots of stairs to walk up and down from the front desk which was on the third floor. The staff will help to bring the luggages to your room ( also at check out - just call).
Hotel restaurant serves dinner buffet . If you are not interested, the hotel also has a list of restaurants nearby with 10-30 minutes drive. We drove out to have yakitori in a small down, which was very local, but with friendly owner, good food- and super cheap price ( each yakitori was about ¥120-150 yen.
Breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western offers, taste was average. Overall service was very good.

You can drive directly to the parking lot and ask the staff for a parking card when you check in. Because of the surrounding shops, the hotel's location is more suitable for business travelers and is not recommended for family purposes.
