- nicely designed and well maintained hotel, very quiet - away from the Main Street, not very convenient, shuttle bus is very limited, only two in the morning to the train station, you have to book in advance - no gym or pool or a la carte restaurant options - great ocean view from the room, lobby and Onsen - service was subpar, the onsen floor was slippery, I fell and injured my hand and feet, had two medicated plasters from the reception and that was it - lots of people were taking photos in the mixed bath onsen???

We are self driving from JR Wakayama to Shirahama about 2 hours, nice place and good location because can see the sunshine with nice beach view. The onsen is super nice view face to the beach/sea and peaceful. Hotel breakfast is very delicious with traditional Japan and Western style , there is alot of choice too. The staff is helpful to carry on our bag and luggage. The hotel reception have a convenient shop for us to buy the souvenir. I will be back again, thank you!

In addition, there is an engine noise in the room at night, which seems to be coming from the engine room or somewhere else. It sounds for 10 seconds and stops for a few seconds, and the frequency changes. It is hard to imagine that a room at this price has such facility problems. People who are sensitive to sound will not be able to fall asleep at all. I will not stay here again. I will try the hot spring hotel by the sea next time.

If I come to Shirahama alone next time, I will still choose this hostel. During the off-peak season, you are very likely to have a room for one person, and each room is divided into four single rooms, so you don't disturb each other. The key is that the location is just opposite Shirahama, and there is Marriott on the mountain next to it. Marriott is 1500, and here is 170. The hot spring ♨️ in the hostel is also very good, with a relatively high water temperature, which is super refreshing. For such a cheap price, there is also breakfast, which is very simple, with bread, eggs, and coffee. Take the Meiko bus 🚌 from Shirahama Station to S-16 or S-17 Mabiyu Station, and get off. MU is a pink building on the slope between the two stations. The front desk service is very enthusiastic, you can wash and dry clothes, and you can lock and store your luggage yourself🛅Perfect

Check-in: deliberately give Chinese tourists bad room types, I hope everyone pay attention, must go to the front desk theory. We set a better 50 square meters room, but gave us a ”refuge tool room” directly to the parking lot, and the communication repeatedly changed us to a much smaller downgraded room. There are many empty rooms. Eat: Breakfast and dinner are buffet, the choice and taste are not bad. Hot springs: There are three, male hot springs, female hot springs, mixed bathing (wearing swimsuits), but in fact, the mixed bath is a small to exaggerated small pool, almost can be ignored. Pool: There is a swimming pool for children to play, and children are more happy to play.
