It is just a short walk from Lake Hiwassee, abundant with fish and wildlife. Enjoy the outdoors sipping coffee or hot cocoa from the screened-in porch. Grill on the patio while watching the sunset. Sit around the fire pit, making s’mores and enjoying a glass of wine. Centrally located to boat ramp, marina, dam, Historic Murphy, and Historic Blue Ridge. The cabin is centrally located in the Appalachian Mountains and close to lots of fun spots like local dining restaurants, historic downtowns (Murphy, Blue Ridge, Helen, and Blairsville), Lake Hiwassee (trails, fishing, boat ramp, marina, and dam), recreation areas and trails for hiking, 7 waterfalls, Harrah's Cherokee River Valley Casino, Nantahala Outdoor Center, gem mining, stables, farms, breweries, wineries, and much more.The cabin tastefully decorated to truly immerse yourself in the experience. The cabin sits on a fairly leveled acre , allowing guests to enjoy the backyard. Each bedroom has a 43 in TV and the living room has a 55 in TV. All TVs have over 190 channels with DISH and guests can also stream services with their own accounts. There is a veggie garden in the backyard that guests can enjoy when veggies are in season. There are tons of games available to play in the living room, screened-in porch, or yard. There is a selection of books to read cozied up in bed or by the fireplace, in the screen-in porch, or by the fire pit.Guests have the entire cabin to themselves. Guests will have easy access to the cabin via a smart-lock; code is sent to guests the day of their arrival and expires at check-out time the day of their check-out. There is parking for 2 cars on-site; it is a flat leveled gravel driveway.There are 3 owners closets, a garage, and shed that guests have no access to. Cell service is not guaranteed at our cabin in the mountains. If your phone has Wi-Fi calling, enable it after connecting to the cabin’s Wi-Fi to be able to make phone calls. The cabin offers the best internet service for available in this area of the mountains. We cannot give refunds if issues should arise with cell phone service and TV and Internet performance issues. This was the dam superintendent's home where such guests as President Roosevelt stayed when he visited the Hiwassee Dam. Years later Navy Seals stayed in the house when they were training in the area.We bought and Hilltop because of its outstanding view of the lake and the mountains. We added a bedroom and 2 new bathrooms to make it our fit our family. Now it has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms! It is located on a mountain top in the gated community of Bear Paw on Lake Hiwassee. It is in walking distance of the tennis courts, pool, basketball court, children's playground and fishing pond. The nearby marina has boats available for rent.The delightful cabin has all you need for a peaceful vacation. The kitchen with its granite countertops is ready for cooking. You will find everything you need for preparing and serving meals except the food. There are four bedrooms with 2 doubles, 2 queens and two twin beds. The cabin has wireless internet, so it makes it easy to check your email. The large screen porch provides an ideal spot to drink your morning coffee or watch the sunset over the lake. We are extremely grateful that our cabin/Murphy/Cherokee County were largely spared bad effects from the hurricane - if you are trying to reschedule a trip to an affected area, or need a place to get away to, we are in full working order with internet, cell service, power, businesses largely open, etc. We would love to have you! It is a combination of a paved and gravel road but does not require a 4 wheel drive to access it.
