Conrad's Mountain Lodge

We just went to the restaurant to have lunch. The order was taken quickly, but otherwise nothing special. The restaurant is clean, the food is fresh and it arrived quite quickly. A view of the mountain, very nice. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and interestingly.

Friendly staff, amazing food, great views and location!! One of the best places I’ve stayed. The staff are friendly and ready to assist with trip planning. The food is excellent - wonderful wood-fired pizza!

From the first moment in registration to the final walk out the doors our stay at Conrad’s Mountain Lodge was exceptional. The staff is welcoming and knowledgable. We were provided with transport cards foe the local buses and lifts and helpful information was shared for how to maximize our adventure time. The breakfasts were plentiful, varies and delicious. As Americans we drink lots of coffee and on our second morning our demitasse cups were replaced with large mugs. The staff could not have been any nicer and treated us as if we were lo g time guests instead of first timer. The recommendation of pizza for dinner in the restaurant did not disappoint. It was delicious and served in a unique and memorable fashion. We cannot recommend Conrad’s Mountain Lodge more highly than to say we will come back again.

This was our fifth stay and also the last. The restaurant and room service staff are great, but the management is completely incompetent. I paid for an apartment room for my children for CHF 320 and for two more people CHF 196, so over CHF for 500 for one night. For this, there were only 2 Nespresso capsules (no 2 extra) and on the sofa bed only small pillows). My request for free tickets to the mountain railroads for all 4 in the room was refused without explanation. At check out, I was not even asked if the stay was ok. I had to address the grievance myself. I was promised a response, which four days later has not yet arrived. "As a consolation" I was given three small water bottles for the return trip. Worse you can not rule on customers.

Staying at this hotel made us feel home and being part of a big family in Engadin. The hotel is great situated with good parking. The staff is very friendly and creates a family atmosphere. The food is delicious. Upon arrival, we received cards for free rides on the cable cars and buses and a yummy panettone. This is a great option if you like hiking at the lakes and want to be a bit off the crowds but still close enough to St. Moritz. Rooms are modern alpine chic and very clean. We enjoyed a lot the stay.

Overall, I'm glad I went to the trip advisor forum for hotel location recommendations, I felt this is the best hotel among the three I've stayed in the Maloja District for this 9-days trip: Silvaplana ＞ Celerina ＞ St. Moritz. Arriving from St. Moritz: Simply take the public bus near the train station and alight at Silvaplana Kreisel Mittel. Walking to the hotel is a short 5min walk on a slight slope. A good location to go anywhere in Silvaplana. Service: Received a very warm welcome during check-in and introduction to the hotel amenities and various locations around Silvaplana, with personal recommendation on what tickets are applicable for me (transport, ski, engadin card etc). Very friendly staff I've encountered throughout my stay here. The hospitality is something you won't get from what you get from larger hotels. Active Plus Room: Simply awesome with a great view of the surroundings and mountains from the bedroom and balcony. Well equipped kitchenette, living area, bathtub in shower room and walk in closet. Radiator heater is easy to use. Food: Breakfast has a good spread of hot food (eggs to your liking) and cold platter (cheese, hams, muesli, smoked salmon etc.) Exploration Tips: Corvatsch, Val Fex, Lake Silvaplana, Lake Sils, various hiking trails. Transport Tips: Google Maps isn't very accurate in terms of the timing of public bus transport timings, so be sure to look at the bus timetables at the bus stop.
