B&B Le Saline

What a sensational B & B. Located at the end of a street about 6 km out of town across the bay. Parking is in the quiet street in front of the B&B very safe. We were in the grey room on the top floor with our large balcony, the room is a good size with a small hall & narrow bathroom the other end. If you have a choice definitely our pick, but saying that the other rooms are also very lovely and have their own balcony. Views from the large balcony are sensational, one end looking over the wet lands with flamingoes strolling about also looking over the bay to town & the tourist island, from the other end views of the other side of the bay & the Mussel & clam farms. The room is well set out even with a cloths airier & pegs, great when your travelling for 3 months. Our recommendation is the grey room for the balcony & views. TV has English channels. This is a bonus as we have found this is not the case in our travels at a B&B. The Breakfast is excellent, Stefano caters for each couples dietary needs. Provided in the garden which is also a lovely setting. We had the opportunity to meet the whole family, very lovely friendly people and made us feel very welcomed. Stefano gave us some great tips on where we should visit and all whilst different excellent. We would say the best B&B in Italy and we have visited many in our 11 weeks stay so far here. Nice and comfy rooms with excellent breakfast. Beautiful location and views of the lagoon and sea. Stefano, the owner, is a great host. He went out of his way to help us replace a broken rental car, which is not easy in Sicily! We can definitely recommend staying there!

Stephano was an excellent host and a wonderful chef! His breakfast was delicious and he met us at arrival with a welcome drink. He showed us where to park to visit Ortigia and gave us tips on what to see. The space was spotless and large.

Where shall I start...I mean, everything was FANTASTIC! The location is literally in front of Ortigia's island with the B&B entrance in front an old saltworks where you can see the most beautiful sunset. The rooms are extremely cozy and designed to have everything you need, and I mean literally everything. One of the amazing detail about all the rooms, beside obviously being really beautiful with the highest level of hygiene and amenities, is that you will not hear anything from other rooms or outside world. They are literally soundproof. The private balconies and gardens are stunning and really make you wonder with all the beauty around. But the soul and body of this beautiful place is Stefano, the host/owner, and his infinite passion and work will make you feel at home and part of the family. Before you will arrive he will ask what time you will arrive at the B&B and if you have any allergies to be ready to welcome you on arrival and make sure that your breakfast will be aligned with your dietary requests. Every morning you will be showered with love an delighted by his breakfast creations such as the homemade cakes, fresh juices, homemade yoghurts and other traditional Sicilian delicacy. He does everything from scratch and he make sure that you leave happy and full! What an incredible person, and you can also meet all his family sometimes which are all incredible people. BRAVO!!!!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time and stay at Le Saline. The room was super-clean and decorated to a high standard,with some nice modern touches. The breakfast was made fresh, was local and plentiful. The highlight though was Stefano, the host. He could not have been any friendlier and knowledgeable. His connection and passion for the area and his B&B was great to see and we were glad we could be part of it, just for a few days.

What can we say that it hasn’t already been said about this place ,, all of the reviews on here are pretty much spot on .. my view of the place , is that it’s cosy , rustic. , and ideal , for anybody wishing to stay away from the city cluster ,, Stefano makes the whole thing “ personal “ , with his flamboyant approach to breakfast , so that you get on with your day , in a good mood ,, the rooms are functional , and the parking outside , very safe and free , whitch helps ,, Stefano is also very accommodating with any problems you may encounter ,, we did , and he solved it with a phone call ,,, he also gave us tips on a few restaurants in the area , that were really nice to visit and didn’t disappoint ,, would definetely come back , if ever in the area ,,
