L'Approdo delle Sirene

B & B is exactly as shown on the site. It sits right on the large harbour at Ortiga, Syracuse. There are two car parks nearby but the one to go to is the further away as it is only 20 euros for 24 hours. Our room was on the same floor as the reception desk. It was spacious, bright, airy and kept immaculate by the cleaners. Reception is manned 8am to 8pm so if you are a needy traveller, this may not suit you. There is an excellent restaurant only a few yards from the front door and a wealth of bars, cafes and restaurants throughout the area. Breakfast was a real treat with bruschetta, home made vegetable flan, the tastiest ham I have ever had and some lovely cheese plus a whole host of sweet treats including a homemade apple flan. Staff were lovely and always helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We have just returned from staying at this wonderful hotel. The staff are warm, professional and helpful. Our corner twin room was bright, clean and modern with a wonderful view from two windows - one of which had a lovely little balcony. Excellent, modern bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, taken on the lovely terrace with fabulous sea views (lots of choice of croissants, fresh fruit/muesli/yoghurt/savory tarts - and most especially squeezing our own oranges to make fresh orange juice). The hotel is minutes walk from all the sights/restaurants etc., of the stunningly beautiful centre of Ortigia. Couldn't ask for anything more We cannot fault this property.

My son and I had a lovely stay. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly. Great location that is within walking distance to popular tourist sites and restaurants. I recommend going upstairs onto the terrace for a great view of the harbor.

I stayed in Syracuse for 4 nights for a conference that was held in Ortigia, the Island that is the older part of the city. Since I knew that I would be arriving late in the evening and that the bus from Catania airport would be leaving me off across the bridge, I looked for a place that was near the bridge, so that I would not have to wander the alleys of Ortigia at night to look for my hotel. So I reserved at L'Approdo delle Sirene, even though it was more expensive than other similar B&B's. I was not disappointed. When I contacted the hotel to inform them that I would be arriving after their reception desked closes at 8 pm, they send me detailed instructions on how to find the key to my room, which I did, and then registered the following morning. In general, the room was comfortable and large, the ac worked well, wi-fi also worked, the room had a safe, a mini-bar, and a kettle. The shower is also large, and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was fairly good, although more vegetables would have been nice. And the location, with a balcony overlooking the water, could not be beat!

We stayed at this B&B for two nights in May. They were extremely accommodating - due to our travel schedule, we arrived before the normal check-in time and needed to leave before reception opens for check-out on our last day. The B&B prepared a room an hour before normal check-in AND allowed us to pay our bill and leave keys in the room before the normal check-out period. We were really pleased with the service they provided during our stay. As for the hotel itself, the rooms and common areas were very clean and tidy during our stay. We booked just a normal double room and while it was small, it was clean with a comfortable bed, great air conditioning, and a full-sized bathroom. The breakfast was very nice, mostly pastries and fresh fruit with coffee. The terrace is lovely and provides a great view of the harbor. They also keep it open all day if you want to just relax up there outside of breakfast hours. Lastly, it is in a great location right along the water in Ortigia. I would definitely stay here again.
