Hôtel le Tivoli

We arrived late. Our keys were put on the front desk. Fortunately one guest opened the door and letting us in. We should not have any problems to check in if we knew the code for the front door. I suggest the hotel send an email to the guest after confirming the room.

We always stay at the Tivoli when travelling through the area - we like this small privately owned hotel situated in a quiet square and managed by a very amusing, charismatic young man - underground garage parking - excellent breakfast - spotlessly clean rooms and comfortably equipped - highly recommended !

We stayed in Le Tivoli for 3 nights. It’s a small hotel in great location, close to the citadel and the old town. We arrived on Sunday out with the working hours of the hotel and had to make a call to check in. Sebastian arrived shortly, checked us in, helped to carry the suitcase to the second floor and gave a useful recommendation on a restaurant round the corner -L’Oppidum - which we loved so much that we happened to go there 3 times during our short stay for lunches and dinner. The rooms are small, but ok for a short stay. A couple of hangers but not much space to put our stuff. The main issue we had with the hotel was the absence of air conditioning. On hot June days and nights it was sometimes unbearable. There was probably misunderstanding too with changing the towels. We left ours outside but didn’t get the fresh ones, had to use the small ones for the rest of our stay. The breakfast was ok - there were some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, juice and coffee. The service was friendly.

Due to the one-way system it took us a little while to find the hotel but it was well worth the effort. We were greeted by a very helpful young man who spoke good English and showed us to our room. This was clean, airy and had everything you could reasonably expect. He then opened the garage so that I could park my motorcycle at no charge. He recommended a restaurant, L’Oppidum, which was excellent (see separate review). Breakfast was fine but a couple of items ran out and I had to find someone to replenish them. When I did that was done quickly but they should be keeping an eye on that.
