If a quiet riverside retreat is what you’re after, a hop and skip over the levee to our private riverside meadow will fill your heart with joy. A walk along the river with coffee or tea in hand is the perfect beginning or end to any day, as the trail atop the levee winds its way along the river past picturesque farm fields with the cascade mountains as a backdrop all the way to downtown Mount Vernon. Forest- If the mountains call, you’re about halfway from Seattle to Mt. Baker, and just 2 minutes from the North cascades highway, the gateway to the American Alps. If beach walks are what you’re after, explore all 7 of the state parks bordered by the Salish sea, home to orcas, sea birds, pacific salmon, and abundant sea life, all within 10-40 minutes of the house.
