Skiathos Holiday Resort

The hotel is very clean with lovely well kept gardens, but I think the cost was expensive for what you got. Location was about 10/15 mins flat walk to town but down a small dirt track with a few pot holes. Our room was extremely dark and the view from our balcony was a big lime tree with no view either way. The room was spacious but had very dated decor with dark wood furniture, the bathroom was extremely small and needs updating the shower was hanging off the wall (which was rectified by the next day) but was fixed so high up on the wall I was unable to reach it, there was a shower curtain which got wrapped around your legs, the sink was cracked and had a mixer tap that dripped constantly and there was never any hot water in the mornings. The breakfast was very basic no fresh fruit, tinned peaches everyday, cereals, yoghurt, some small pieces of omelette, small sausages and beans which were only luke warm, bread and jams, NO TOASTER! If you were not up early you had no chance of a sunbed around the pool (of which there were only 20 for the whole hotel). The pool area was so quiet you were afraid of making a noise. Getting in and out of the pool was tricky if you are a little unstable, problem would be solved by installing a small hand rail by the steps. We spent most of our days at the tennis club around the corner, very welcoming, lovely pool, lovely food and some back ground music and you could reserve your sunbeds for the next day. I feel for the money we paid for this hotel there are better options available, we would not return here.

Baffled by some of the negative reviews I have read. This beautiful small hotel run by Mary and Costas along with their two sons to ensure everyone who holidays with them has the best possible relaxing time. No one can say anything but spotlessly clean. The breakfast with hot choices of food and great selection of cereals, fruit yogurt honey, bread/jam, tea/coffee, if there is not enough for anyone to find something to breakfast on then you must really be particular. If you get up for breakfast then you will usually get a sun-bed no problem, as this wonderful island has so many beaches guests do go out for days, allowing space for all. Mary gets involved and caters your every requirements wherever she can, in a professional playful way.

I would like to start by saying that skiathos is a beautiful island and would 100% return but not to this hotel (Kostas and Mary’s) The hotel is spotlessly clean but that was the only positive. It was a very unfriendly hotel. Was unable to get a sunbed the whole 2 weeks we were there. The pool is very small, no music playing and nobody talking. Very awkward in my opinion so wouldn’t use the pool even if I could have got bed. There seems to be regulars there that get the best rooms and reserve beds early. The breakfast was awful! Cold beans, cocktail sausages and small pieces of omelette, cereal and some tinned fruit. The breakfast would only be topped up if asked even though Mary and another member of staff stood behind the table and knew exactly what was left. The breakfast room was absolutely boiling and not one fan on. The bar by the pool was very limited with drinks and snacks. The guy behind the bar was very rude and unfriendly. We spent our pool days at the tennis club who were very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean but towels were covered in bleach stains. The beds were very uncomfortable and the aircon was useless. For some strange reason they don’t open the main gate of the hotel, so you have to use the other gate which means a longer walk to supermarket and town. The walk to the town is along a very long dirt track with lots of potholes. The traffic was quite busy up these roads with no pavements. I will definitely be returning to skiathos but will not be staying at this hotel.

Immaculate gardens well looked after. Lovely clean pool area. Bar served variety of drinks and lunchtime snacks. Rooms were clean and airy with balcony. Towels and sheets changed on a regular basis. Continental breakfast plenty of food each morning. Only a five minute walk down to the front. Hundreds of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Loads of boat trips to choose from. We had an amazing 2 weeks and will defo return. Lovely family run hotel.

This was a return visit to this hotel mainly due to the close proximity of the town and all amenities. The hotel is exceptionally clean and tidy although a little dated. The rooms are tidied daily and there is a regular change of bedding and towels. The pool and garden areas are also beautifully maintained. Despite the occasional towels placed out before breakfast there was usually a sunbed to be found at some point during the day. My room was at the back of the hotel and could be quite noisy sometimes due to local building work going on. The bathroom sink plug was broken and also the shower did not fit on the wall hook so there is a need to certainly repair or update the bathrooms. The breakfasts were adequate for me but always the same and limited choice. The staff and family are lovely and all in all I had a great time in Skiathos.

Typical Greek wooden furniture in bedrooms and small shower, which is to be expected. Very clean hotel, (with rooms cleaned daily) and pool with charming garden area. The breakfast is very limited for choice and so is the bar food. It is a longer treck to the town centre than other hotels so you may struggle in the high temperatures. The mainly elderly guests boast of coming here up to 8 or 9 times and even twice a year-Astonishing. There are 20 rooms (40 guests) with only 20 sunbeds so be up at the crack of dawn to make your claim.
