We got a really good rate through the Trip website. Kelsey on reception changed our room because there was no bath in the first room. The staff at the hotel were very smartly dressed. The food at breakfast was excellent. We are two nights in Macleod. Again the food was excellent. We would recommend this hotel. The only negative was if you hadn’t booked a spa break you had to pay £30 each to use the pool.

Overall, 3.5* for our dinner/bed/breakfast/ spa visit, which had been bought as a birthday present for £400. Negatives: The room makes up over half the value of the voucher. It is spacious, clean and functional but feels very "budget". The bed was made up of 2 single beds pushed together. The electric heater on the wall and tea/coffee facilities also had a cheap feel. We spent over £500on a 1 night stay including spa treatment so was hoping for a room facing the lake+dales rather than a car park. I've seen comments from others that they would move you to a lake view room if you pay extra! Positives: The spa was extremely nice and we both enjoyed the facilities, especially the outdoor jacuzzi when the sun was going down and the stars were coming out on a cold Jan evening. The evening meal was really tasty. I had fish of the day (sea bream) and chocolate brownie which was excellent. The staff were good, but after asking for our bill it took them 30minutes to sort which was annoying ("dinner" in the deal means £35allowance per person, you have to pay the difference). Breakfast was ok. We had a table by the window which did provide a good view. The bean portion was tiny;the tomato was undercooked. I declined mushrooms and black pudding but the other bits were ok. 2 sausage would be nice. We went for a walk around the grounds before we left, which is highly recommended. Overall I would recommend the spa+restaurant - they were excellent, but I think the room+breakfast at the premier inn down the road would be better for a fraction of the price.

We went for Sunday lunch. The service and food was excellent. I had the roast beef- it was delicious. My dad had fish and chips and he enjoyed it too. We went to the Xmas fayre and that was lovely. A great way to spend a Sunday. We will definitely return.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting on the lake which is worth a walk around it. Reception staff, Hazel & Eva gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful during our stay. We had a deluxe ground floor room with a terrace overlooking the lake. The room was fine but for our bathroom. It had disabled access which we didn't need. The shower was a wet room with no curtain so the bathroom got very wet when the shower was used. No loo seat lid either which is not nice. There was a fridge and kettle with teabags, coffee sachets in the room but no biscuits. The spa was good - one steam room, 3 saunas, a pool, gym, one indoor hot tub and 2 outdoor hot tubs. We were charged £30 each for a 2 hour slot. Not sure it was worth that as a hotel resident. You can order drinks whilst in the hot tub. Note you have to cross the car park to get to the Spa so you'll need your robe & slippers which are provided. Breakfast was good - good range of hot food to order and buffet. Evening meals were fine - nothing outstanding though. I enjoyed the artwork in the hotel. Lots of pretty villages nearby and Bolton Abbey is stunning.

We’ve often drove pass on our way up to Settle and said how we would love to stay - you can imagine are delight when we was given a voucher as a Xmas present. Booking in was easy and the receptionist Eve was a breath of fresh air with her big smile and providing all the information we required. The room was very spacious with plenty of storage / iron and board/water/tea & coffee / large double bed and a walk in shower - saying all that the room was a little tired and could of done with some tlc see photos. We did eat in the view restaurant which is set out lovely -we didn’t manage to get a table by the window instead we sat near the open fire which was lovely. I didn’t think the food was to a AA rosette standard in fact we thought it was over priced and very average. Breakfast was totally different lots of selections - the eggs Benedict was the best I’d ever had and the staff were very warm and welcoming. I cannot comment on the spa as we didn’t take advantage of the facilities but wish we had as some of the guest who had used the facility said it was fabulous. Next time we drive passed we can say “ we’ve stayed there”
