Visited for 1 night to celebrate my husbands birthday. We have stayed before and we were excited to return The red lion is in an idyllic location. Our room in the annex was comfortable and clean however we were let down by the food Breakfast was ok but the evening meal was not a good experience. There was confusion over the menu. The food was mediocre at best. Our issues were eventually dealt with but by then our evening was ruined Will not be returning

Excellent location and great service. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the room was tired, small, stained carpet and duvet. Evening meal not great, (fries overcooked to the point of being inedible). Room desperately in need of refreshment and definitely not value for money at £120. The photos on the website must have shown rooms which had been renovated already. Doubt we’ll be back which is a shame.

Last minute booking of an outside cottage. The car park smelt of sewage. Extremely disappointed - bedroom and bathroom on lower level. Wardrobe door would not close and there was an old piece of dirty, paint stained carpet in the bottom of the wardrobe. Bath was old fashioned - needs replacing. Kitchen and living area on upper level needs refurbishing. Settee and armchair need replacing. The whole place needs refurbishing plus a deep clean 🧽 Did NOT STAY but was charged £195 (totally overpriced) Think twice or three times before booking here…..

Classic Dales pub but disappointing. Our welcome was brusque/curt, the room impossible to find due to complete lack of signing outside and the Caesar salad with chicken meal the worst I have ever had-no chicken, no anchovies and just a few bits of bacon/croutons but loads of lettuce. The room we had needs a refurbishment as a bit tired but hotel are aware and steadily up grading all rooms Breakfast absolutely great as were the staff in the function room giving our group of Classic Car enthusiasts a fantastic evening together

Lovely cosy inn with great staff and good food. The thing that sets this place apart though is its location right beside the River Wharfe. It is absolutely stunning and right on the Dales Way so fabulous walks on the doorstep. The three mile walk in to Grassington will rate as one of the most scenic I have done. With cosy log fires blazing in the bar and lounge this was a real find for a winter break.

We spent 3 nights here on our Dales Way hike. Everything was great. We had one of the annex rooms which was very clean and comfortable. The countryside setting is stunning. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay.

Didn't stay, but booked for dinner with two friends. It was perfect! Tables nicely spaced, friendly staff, perfectly paced service of each course and - most important- delicious, perfectly cooked food with an up-to-date take on traditional dishes. A memorable meal, faultlessly prepared and served. Thanks.

Absolutely fantastic. Been staying here many years but this was possibly the best yet... Booked for 2 nights stayed for 3 partly due to fab weather Ate all 3 nights and of a very high standard every time Big thanks to Laura, Lindley, James, Pepa, Lizzie, Jess and everyone else whose names we either don't know or have forgotten. You made our stay truly special and we hope to see you again very soon!!
