Jane, Sylvi and I would like to thank you for creating the perfect day, to celebrate our dear mum. The barn was beautifully decorated, the flowers, just what we wanted. The outdoor space is glorious, so we were able to spend the day in the sunshine, celebrating Mum with our family and friends, it was such a wonderful way to share all our memories. We are not sure how you managed to provide the perfect weather, but that made it extra special. Many thanks to Kate, Richard, and Lauren who thought of everything to the last detail. The chef and all the staff for looking after us so well. The buffet was delightful and beautifully displayed, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, Ann.

Had a family members birthday celebration here and most of the guests stayed over night. This hotel is just so beautiful and in a fantastic setting. It was exclusive to us including rooms and I have to say every one of them were lovely. The decor was stunning, they were fresh and very clean. The beds were comfy and the bedding pristine. All rooms were very well presented and very well looked after. Our celebrations were in the Barn area which was just perfect for us. Very spacious and light but in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The bar and sofa area, with the open fire was a lovely place to take a minute to chat to family and friends. Our time spent at this beautiful hotel will now be a very happy memory. We also need to say a huge thank you to Richard and Lauren for making this celebration such a memorable occasion, they were always there to answer any questions we had and very accommodating when we wanted to visit their venue. A big thank you to all the staff who were so friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our time here was just perfect

I recently went to a baby shower at random hall and it was fabulous. The staff are excellent, hard working & attentive. The venue and decorations were so special. I also had the pleasure of staying in the hotel too and the rooms are perfect, decorated beautifully and a great breakfast to finish the visit too. A lovely walk from the hotel to Milk Churn cafe is a must for walkers and those with dogs.

The best baby shower ever! The hotel excelled themselves in looking after a group of 25 of us celebrating our daughter’s pregnancy! Our family bought some decorations which looked amazing in the large barn part of the hotel. The staff had laid the tables with linen and vintage tea cups and plates. The flowers were stunning and the afternoon tea was delicious. Homemade sandwiches, scones and different cakes. Everyone was blown away with the service and attention to detail. We were lucky enough to stay the night and the rooms are gorgeous. We just love this hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay for one night in this hotel. The building is lovely with a lot of history. It was very interesting to find out what it was originally and how it changed over many years into a hotel. The location is also in a stunning area. Our room was really nice with an extremely comfortable bed. The staff were also fantastic from the moment we walked in. We will give them some feedback to help them improve on certain things. The hotel was quite cold throughout and just needed a bit of heating switching on. There are heaters in the rooms but these must cost a fortune to run. The breakfast wasn't great if we are honest. The sausages and bacon could have done with a few more minutes cooking. Also, ditch the horrible tinned mushrooms. Fresh mushrooms don't cost a lot and would have been so much better. And where was the black pudding? Overall, we would recommend this hotel and if we are in the area we would stay here again.

Attended a Club lunch having pre-ordered my food choices 6 days before the event. The lamb steak was very tough and barely edible. The vegetables were mediocre and not enough for the number of people on our table. For the dessert I was told that they had run out of the cheesecake which I had pre-ordered. As an alternative I was offered a chocolate brownie or lemon tart. I chose the tart but was later told they had run out of that too. I declined the then offered alternatives of chocolate brownie or ice cream. However the waitress then handed me a lemon tart but without the trimmings of raspberry coulis and cape gooseberry that others had on their plate. Having pre-ordered my food choices it’s inexcusable that they had run out. Because our Club lunches run to a timetable it wasn’t practical to send food back for replacement by something more acceptable. The filter coffee served at the end of the meal was disgusting, which was a widespread complaint, and so as an alternative we were offered coffee from “ their machine”. The delay, however, disrupted the smooth flow of our Club meeting. Generally the service of food and drinks was slow and chaotic. Despite the poor quality of food, drink and service we were not offered a discount off of our not inconsiderable bill for 25 people.
