Very convenient location. Friendly staff who is always ready to help. Stable Internet. Breakfast for 3 stars, OK.
Minorities:
The room heating is made by a common ventilation system that is extremely noisy, sleep with it is difficult even at the minimum capacity. Cleaning leaves you wish the best. Discovered the hair on the floor of the toilet and in bed. The toilet is very dirty. The shower is blocked from the shelf by a non-hydroisolated sewer, water flows beyond the shower. No slippers in the rooms. The doors of the rooms are thin, everything is heard in the corridor. In general the price for the rooms is overpriced in my opinion.

I thought the location was good as it was about 10 minutes walk from Sofia Central Station, walking distance to the center, and supermarket nearby.
It's not that it's not beautiful, but overall the hotel was dark. It may be influenced by carpets and lighting.
The service is not bad, but the receptionist was a little blunt or unfriendly. It is said that there are many people who are shy as Bulgarian nationality, so I think that is what it is.
Amenities included shampoo, shower gel, solid soap, bath towels, face towels, bath mat, but no tissues, toothbrushes, slippers, room clothes, etc. There is no water in the PET bottle, so when drinking coffee or tea as amenities, you need to use tap water or the water you bought yourself.
All breakfast was delicious.
It seems that there are basically no people in charge other than replenishing meals and taking charge of the lower set, and it seems that each can be used freely.
The bathroom is small. The room was clean. Breakfast is more general. The surrounding traffic is not very convenient. It is 2.5 km from the subway and 15 minutes if you walk.

It is located near the city center and it is very convenient to walk to the pedestrian street. However, the hotel is not as big as advertised. The breakfast options are only a few kinds of bread, which is not particularly rich! If you need to take a taxi from the airport to the city center, it only costs 20 local currency. I was charged 40, so be careful!
Pros: The hotel design is very modern and clean. The staff are nice and friendly and do everything they can to help you. This hotel is big on sustainability. They don't leave plastic bottles in your room. Instead, you have glass bottles that you can fill up everywhere in the hotel. Every floor has a drinking fountain where you can fill up your bottle.
The food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is not a buffet. On weekdays, you have to choose between a Bulgarian or a French breakfast. At first, I was disappointed that they didn't have a simple option like an omelet; I went with the Bulgarian option. It was fantastic. Everything was fresh. On weekends, you only have an omelet option, which was also great. For dinner, I got Sea Bass and it was also great! I am fully satisfied with the food served at this hotel. The only criticism I can give is that the breakfast serving window is very small and late (8:30 am to 10:30 am if I remember correctly) and you have to wait for more than usual to get your food.
Cons: The rooms have tile floors, which look cold but are not since I believe they use floor heating. The problem is that they don't offer slippers, which I don't like, since the same tiles continue into the toilet. It doesn't feel clean.
They also don't offer toothbrushes which I would have really appreciated.
I had to unplug the fridge since the compressor made a lot of noise when turning off and on, and I'm a light sleeper.
Overall I would recommend this place if the location suits you, just bring your own slippers and enjoy the food!

KKonstantin AlekseevClean, perfect location, free parking. The beds are a bit hard and it would be better of you guys check whether the bottles of water in the rooms are full; mines were empty.

MMango5We stayed here because our flight arrived late night and shuttle bus came to the sofia airport after calling the hotel. We prefer to get the shuttle bus without calling (ex. it's better if we can call the bus by app or text etc). However, the driver and all staff were really nice and friendly.
Our train was very early morning so we asked the hotel to prepare our breakfast and it was really good! Thank you.
Our room didn't have bathroom rug.

My stay was very pleasant overall. A particularly positive point is the extremely courteous staff, who were always helpful and friendly. Check-in was quick and uncomplicated, so I was able to move into my room straight away.
The excellent location is a big plus. Many sights, restaurants and public transport are easily accessible, which makes the stay particularly pleasant.
The only criticism is the bathrooms, which could be much cleaner. There is definitely room for improvement here to further optimize the overall impression.
Nevertheless, I would recommend the accommodation, as the price-performance ratio is good overall. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip.
HHEKOTThe hotel is very conveniently located, the center and a number of attractions are within walking distance. It is very easy to get to the hotel, thanks to a clear and accessible manual that is sent before check-in. The room is small, but clean enough. For its price it is quite acceptable. There is coffee in the lobby downstairs. A very cool elevator. The room has slippers and bathroom amenities (shower gel, shampoo).

GGuest UserThe attitude of the receptionist was unprofessional, rude and unacceptable.
For one hour, the whole hotel didn’t know how to charge my credit card, as their credit card machine doesn’t follow EU rules for 3D security, thus jeopardising clients’ private data. I wasted a full hour on the phone with my bank, only to find out that the hotel doesn’t follow rules on how to securely handle credit card data. The management kept telling me that it’s my fault, despite the fact I never before have had problems with card payments before.
Breakfast food was decent, with a choice between a couple of set menus.
The hotel was clean, rooms were quiet, and it was situated and in a convenient location, within 3-4 minutes from the nearest metro station.
Some of the photos on their site are dated, as the interior is different now.
PPhoenix969This was my second time at Hemus , staff were extremely friendly and rooms were nice as always, it’s a 4 star hotel with slightly dated fitments so pls manage expectations but it’s good value for money and great connections to city center. Highly recommend for value for money
BBeryl XuIt’s actually 🈶** in the hotel. So the parking fee is expensive. It’s about less than 100 RMB per night. Because the hotel is relatively cost-effective, you can actually ignore the outdated facilities. When checking in at the front desk, I was assigned to the second floor. I said I wanted a higher floor. There should be a manager next to me who can tell me that you have to ask for it. I said I have a request. I show them the requirements I wrote. Because of the word count requirement, I wrote it in Chinese on Ctrip. The other party immediately said that we couldn’t understand. I responded immediately. Don’t you have a translator? Then I reluctantly gave it to the sixth floor. 👌. When checking out, I especially want to praise the front desk with long brown hair. The service attitude is very good. I want to print out my car insurance policy. Everyone helped.

MMargaritaI chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Pullman station. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. However, upon my arrival at 8pm, I found that my room was not properly prepared to accommodate customers. The bed was ready with only a bottom sheet and a pillow, the top sheet and a blanket were missing.
The receptionist was fantastic, immediately bringing me everything I was missing: a sheet and a blanket. Despite this inconvenience, my overall experience was good, thanks above all to the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.

GGuest UserThe Rila Hotel is an old hotel with old facilities, shoe box size elevators but in a very central part of the town near to everything. Our first night we stayed in a standard small room ( I think it cost $46 maybe $50 with taxes etc )that was not satisfactory. The next day for $10 - $12 per day upgrade we moved into a double size spacious/suite room with 2 balconies !! Very nice to sit out on the balcony with the afternoon setting sun and to wash out a few cloth items and let the sun dry them. Neither of the rooms had shower curtains in the bathrooms. When i enquired about this I was told this was done because of covid. Hhmmm not sure how a shower curtain has any bearing on covid ? We stayed a total of 7 nights and only once, after I called down to the front desk, did a chamer maid come up and take out the garbage and change the towels. To be fair my girlfriend has a habit of spreading all her things all over the 2 rooms so we hesitated to make a fuss. I can imagine a maid being shocked to walk in and not know what to do in all the mess. Breakfast cost extra and was only ok but enough to start the day. There was a large flat screen TV which we never turned on, there was no safe deposit box in the room but we were able to leave our valuables downstairs at the front desk. There are other hotels also nearby that are probably more renovated and modern and most likely cost a little more. On our next trip we most likely will see about other options. The staff was friendly and helpful. I guess it depends on what your expectations are but for us it worked.

BbluesunThe air conditioner in the room didn't work, it was stuffy, the breakfast quality was very poor, the drinks were mixed and had an indescribable taste, and the attitude of the front desk staff was also average
The average price for hotels in Sofia is AED 365 on weekdays, and AED 367 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
