Best Sousse Medina Hotels

This was our second visit to this hotel! Which says it all!! This hotel is lovely! We had a wonderful relaxing holiday, which was made even better by wonderful staff! From our arrival from reception which was first rate, to our departure, always polite & professional! The house keeping we experienced was second to none (Souhir) was exceptionally efficient & delightful! The whole hotel was extremely clean & well presented! The bar staff were also very attentive & efficient! A real big shout out for (Nouredine top bar & Issam pool bar) They are both stars & really looked after us, with nothing too much trouble! The food was great, we always found something really nice to eat! The breakfast cooked egg station was awesome! Sometimes food was a little on the tepid side but there is a microwave ( if required) We had a fantastic waiter, who yet again couldn't do enough to make your vacation amazing (Salah) The rooms are comfortable & clean, with everything you need for a relaxing stay! The animation team where always busy doing something, but we can't be bothered with it, so can't comment too much! Location: for us was great, easy access to Sousse, either walking or Taxi! The transport infrastructure is amazing with loads of options to go places! If required! We had an amazing holiday & we enjoyed so much we are visiting again in March! Dar Antonia is located in the Sousse Medina ; a wonderful Tunisian palace, converted into a boutique hotel. It only has a few rooms, hence not a lot of staff and it may be difficult to find someone at times. The place oozes charm, but comes with some practical disadvantages : lots of stairs to get anywhere, open bathroom, open toilet, noise from other rooms, etc It has a very upmarket (= expensive) restaurant, where a sensational fresh breakfast is served. A great rooftop space with a ”pool”, but it is the size of a spa ; a superb place to have a drink, but it proved to be hard to order any, as they have to come from the restaurant, two floors down (by stairs). Overall, Dar Antonia is your best choice if you like authentic charm and are prepared to put up with the impracticalities that are inherent to an old building.

While a bit difficult to find within the medina's winding streets, the hotel is a lovely, hidden gem that both me and my father loved. You're greeted by the lovely owner with two small kittens that are just adorable. Our room was well furnished, air conditioned and had a very clean bathroom. The roof terrace offers a great view of the Sousse skyline and Medina and is perfect at night to enjoy the call to prayers. Breakfast was served in the main court area of the hotel. Very nicely decorated and the breakfast was very traditional. Nothing too heavy, but still filling nonetheless. You know care and love went into making it.

Overall OK, location is excellent, close to the castle. Breakfast was average. The service was not good, the order was very long. The gym closed on Sunday at 8 o'clock, and had asked before, saying that it was closed at 10 o'clock, but the results were not acknowledged. The sea view room has a nice view.

Hello I am going to give you my personal opinion in relation to what I have seen and experienced in this hotel it is not 4 stars sincerely I was taken in when I arrived I find no swimming pool neither indoors nor outdoors it is disappointing and the hearty breakfast it looks like the canteen of my old faculty in short it's just apartments for rent so no luxury

Warm Welcome & First Impressions From the moment you step into this hotel, you are made to feel special. A welcome drink upon arrival sets the tone, and staff are prompt in helping you find your room, even taking your baggage for you. The hotel is carpeted throughout, which immediately adds to the peaceful atmosphere. We stayed in room 322, which had a lovely side view of the pool and sea. A kettle in the room (free of charge) was a fabulous and welcome surprise—we enjoyed starting each day with a cup of tea. Pools & Outdoor Facilities The sunbeds—both standard and luxurious double loungers—are exceptionally comfortable, with some positioned in the pool itself, adding to the sense of indulgence. The outdoor pools are pristine, offering a stunning setting, but in the low season, most would find them a bit too cold for swimming. There is also a free indoor heated pool, which is a great bonus, though it can get busy at peak times. Food & Drink The food at the hotel surpassed all expectations for buffet-style dining at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A lovely touch was that the staff left a bottle of wine at our table for us to enjoy at our own pace. While the all-inclusive wine is basic, it’s still drinkable. A particular highlight is the cocktails, which are unusually high-quality for Sousse—I can personally recommend the pina colada! There are two main indoor bars and one outdoor bar at the snack area. Food was available whenever we wanted it, and little touches, like fresh orange juice in the morning and coffee brought by a waiter, made each day start off perfectly. Service & Hospitality The waiter service is outstanding, arguably the best in Tunisia. A special mention to Hazem, who went above and beyond to make us feel special and ensured our glasses were never empty. You, Hazem, are a star attraction at this hotel—along with your colleagues, who simply can’t do enough for guests. Customer care is exemplary and cannot be faulted. One evening, we locked ourselves out of our room, and reception had a new key card in our hands within 10 seconds—and it even worked first time! Entertainment & Activities The animation team keeps guests entertained with a range of daily activities, including morning yoga, French boules, and fun games throughout the day. The evening entertainment in the hotel’s indoor bars is varied, featuring live music, dance performances, and themed nights, creating a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Cleanliness & Room Service Hygiene across the hotel is impeccable. The housekeeping team deserves special praise for their meticulous attention to detail. Each day, our room was beautifully presented, often with fresh roses and towel arrangements in the shape of swans or hearts. Spa & Wellness Facilities While the spa is a nice extra touch, not all the facilities seemed to be switched on, such as the sauna. However, the free heated indoor pool is available and well-maintained, even though it can get quite crowded at times.
