This was one of our favorite places in Goa and India. It's a magical farmstay that feels like home. The accommodation is humble and yet luxurious with all the cottages set within the plantation. The food is simple but fresh and some of the most delicious we tasted throughout India. They also make their own spiced feni on site, which is well worth trying. The fresh water swimming pool is every bit as lovely as it looks in the photos and the surrounding jungle is teeming with wildlife and birdlife. But, best of all, the hosts and guests were some of the most charming and engaging we met on our trip. This is the sort of place where you sit round the campfire with strangers and end the night with a new jungle family! Thank you Doris and family for hosting us with such kindness and generosity. And a special mention to Samir, our charming local guide and wildlife expert who took us trekking through the jungle to pristine waterfalls, pointing out the diverse flora and fauna ***** the way. We couldn't recommend Dudhsagar Plantation highly enough!

An absolutely lovely stay in this gorgeous place. Having first visited Dudhsagar Plantation a couple of years ago for a quick tour while passing by the area, I'd long wished to stay here for a couple of days. We booked a stay for a couple of nights, and then Ashok sent over an email detailing out everything that can be done at the farmstay, and in surrounding areas. And I immediately asked for an extension of our stay - turns out, this is far too common. The property is spread over 50 acres and you have trees of all shapes and variety, and farm animals for company. They have five cottages, sufficiently spread across. And a tremendously enjoyable natural pool. They serve delicious home cooked meals at specific times. What I loved about this place the moment I first visited - while the setup is basic, it is entirely contemporary with no compromise on comfort, cleanliness and hygiene - the rooms and washrooms are in top order. The staff is very pleasant and courteous, and Ashok and his family are absolutely delightful hosts. The beauty of this place is in the slow, idyllic life that it offers. As Ashok rightly puts it in his email - it is the other side of Goa.

The rooms toilet and shower are basic but clean, but they are not the reason for going here. If you want to experience a nature based stay then this is undoubtedly the place to be. the 50 acres of grounds offer a variety of walks and habitats with prolific bird and butterfly species, its close to the foothills of the Western Ghats and trips can be arranged by the hotel. Whilst there isn't a menu for breakfast lunch or dinner the food plentiful, varied and very tasty. Both the owner and his staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help wherever they can. A natural water pool is something I've ever experienced before, but it was cool and clean and you get to share it with the frogs :)

We (two couples) enjoyed our stay very much. The cottages were very clean and comfortable and suited to the forest location. Please do not expect Hilton type luxuries rather enjoy the forest setting and total peace and quiet. The natural pool was a delight and the simple food (vegetarian) was some of the tastiest we had in Goa. We were able to put our own drinks in the bar fridge which was handy for refreshment after a hot day of nature trails. Ashok (and staff) were very hospitable and also very helpful in suggesting alternatives to visiting the waterfalls which was not possible during our visit. Maybe next time! Thanks for a lovely 3 night stay.

A quiet place to get away from the hustle of city life and be surrounded by nature. The basic cottages were clean and tidy. The natural swimming pool was cool and refreshing during the humidity of monsoon rains. Ashok was helpful in arranging trips and taxis to and from the plantation. He also gave a great spice tour and was a fantastic host. The food was amazing and so much flavour using produce grown on the plantation. A great stay in Goa!

We had an excellent experience. Natural pool in the midst of trees was the highlight of the trip. The place is very peaceful. There is thick canopy of trees. Ashok and Uncle are very good hosts. There are also many places to visit nearby. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

We very much enjoyed our farmstay. This is not a luxury vacation, but it was an amazing chance to really be in the thick of the natural environment and away from the chaotic cities. The natural pool is a dream, and we would highly recommend organizing a wildlife walk with Samir, which was one of our highlights in the entire trip to India. Overall, Ashok and his family were excellent hosts and we would recommend any and all staying here.

If you’re after a stay in a natural sanctuary, this is a great choice. The place is a genuine multi-generational family conservation effort and a real gem. The huts have all the basic comforts and are very clean. The food is good. The natural pool is a delight and Ganesh’s spice tour is so informative and enriching. Ashok was so great at coordinating our arrival and gave fantastic recommendations for stops on the way to and from the farm, as well as what to do in the environs during our stay. If you’re after fluffy pillows and full mattresses this is not for you, but if you’re after solid basic comforts in an oasis which is becoming increasingly rarer in our world - I would wholeheartedly recommend.
