"This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive Club Med, and I was incredibly impressed with all the G.O.s and G.E.s we encountered at Club Med Changbaishan. Lily, the front desk intern, was the first to greet us and introduced us to Young, the Front Office Manager, who briefly explained the hotel's services. He suggested we rent our ski equipment a day early, which we did after 3 PM, making it free for the day and saving us from a rush before our lessons the next morning. At dinner, ski instructors Jacky and Yoyi joined our table and helped us book ski lessons for both myself and my child starting the next day, which was a huge relief. Jacky also made sure my son attended the mini-club show, which only happens once a week, getting him rehearsed for a little performance on stage even though he wasn't quite sure what was happening – it was delightful!
Throughout our stay, we received excellent service from the hotel team. I particularly remember the G.O.s and G.E.s who chatted with us and offered help: Young, the Front Office Manager, extended our check-out time; Sky introduced us to the restaurant's food, including the delicious hazel mushrooms; Gavin helped us book a table at the limited-capacity hotpot restaurant; Ann, the Ski School Manager, arranged an English-speaking instructor for Ian as requested; and Coach Jacky taught Ian how to ski. We were lucky it wasn't crowded, so Ian even got a day of one-on-one and a day of one-on-three ski lessons. I was also fortunate enough to have a one-on-one aerial yoga session with yoga teacher QQ, my first time trying it, and I loved it. I don't recall the name of the snowshoeing instructor from the sports department, but they guided us and showed me where I could safely lie down in the soft snow, even taking a video for me.
The mini-club's childcare service was superb. We'd drop our child off at the ski hall every morning and pick him up at the hotel after his ski lessons around 4 PM. In between, they arranged lunch and afternoon tea for the kids, and in the evenings, various activities and shows. The enthusiastic manager, Deri, always greeted Ian. We also enjoyed the hotel's indoor and outdoor hot springs. What particularly impressed Ian was the hotel's twice-daily housekeeping. Even though he’d haphazardly discarded his ski gear when in a hurry, it was always neatly folded and put away when we returned to the room – we were amazed!
The bar staff were skilled at mixing drinks. I only had to say “no vodka base,” and they’d consistently create a different sweet and sour cocktail for me each day. Village Chief Janly is incredibly talented, not only hosting the evening shows seamlessly in both Chinese and English but also participating in various acts – truly impressive! We also tried some of the other hotel facilities, like karaoke, ping pong, and billiards. On the day we checked out, front desk staff Cathy and Crystal even gave us beautiful farewell gifts.
This trip to Changbaishan was truly perfect. Thank you to all the staff at Club Med Changbaishan who served us; your professionalism and enthusiasm made for an exceptionally good experience. I will definitely recommend it to everyone I know."
