The Staff is the best thing about the boats, they are so homely and helpful. The food is totally honelike and gives a feel as if you are sitting with your family for a meal..The view from the houseboat of the lake in winters is absolutely mesmerising. It was like a perfect stay..I would recommend everyone to stay at the Gurkhas once in Srinagar..they will cherish it. THANKS

The houseboats are accessible through 2 minute Sikara ride. As soon as we entered the houseboat (No. 2), Tanveer and his team welcomed us with big smile and explained us the rules and gave us the tour of the houseboat. The team is truly a gem. Top notch hospitality and homely feeling. Our dinner and breakfast (included in package) was made fresh after our order. In our entire Kashmir trip we didn’t had this amazing food as we had in houseboat. Houseboat is entirely made of wood and has 4 rooms (with attached washroom). 3 rooms in same floor and 1 room in above floor. A common living hall & dinning room are spacious. You can say it’s floating hotel with all amenities. Would surely recommend everyone to visit and experience hospitality by Tanveer & team.

The hospitality at this houseboat is exceptional. The staff are very friendly and attentive to ensuring that guests are comfortable and enjoying themselves. The food is delicious and what’s more there is a personal touch as it’s all prepared at the houseboat . Piping hot Phulkas served with Kashmiri aloo dum! The rooms are luxurious and the house boat decor is in typical Kashmiri fashion with intricate carvings and elegant silk carpets that embeds the soul of Kashmir . A stay in a houseboat on Dal Lake is the complete Kashmir experience

What an amazing experience we had during our 2 day stay on boat #2. From the moment we arrived across the lake, taking a beautiful shikara (small boat) with a delightful guide, we were in our awe. The peaceful ride around the lake to our houseboat was fantastic! So peaceful, so quiet, so beautiful! Greeted by handsome Kashmiri gentleman whose only role was to make our visit be beyond perfect…and it was accomplished. The boat was exquisite but the best part they upgraded us to a suite with a private balcony! All of the hand-carved decor was so elegant. The manager was very nice but Riyaz and Asheif met our every need with smiles and enthusiasm. We really enjoyed many conversations with them too. We spent most of our time on our balcony, watching the world go by. This was an experience we will never forget and must do for everyone who visits Kashmir! Tank you!!

Excellent experience at gurakha houseboat no.2, very beautiful interior design and cleanness in houseboat, view from houseboat are amazing. Mr Riyaz and Mr Ashraf are very humble and helpful. I definitely visit again. Thank you guys for your hospitality and service
