Probably the worst place I have ever stayed, stinking dirty looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for months, bed was too dirty to even consider sleeping in, room full of damp, dead flies everywhere! When i approached the staff to complain I was told the place was clean, tidy and they didn’t see a problem! Ruined my weekend completely avoid like the plague!!

Came here for Sunday lunch on 6th October. We had beef and turkey with all you can eat veg. The staff are really friendly and the food is lovely. Chris the chef cooks to perfection 👩‍🍳 5⭐️ Really nice outside area, perfect for the summer. Loads of parking space. Will definitely be returning.

How rude! I met a friend here tonight for a few drinks. We had 1 drink when at about 9pm the staff turned off the lights, then about 5 mins later turned off the music. We were about to get another drink when we were asked to leave as they were closing. I asked what their licensing hours are, she said "about 10 pm, I need to take these home" It wasn't even 9.30, we left and, as a local, I will not be sampling their hospitality again. Shame.

Best carvery we've had all meats cooked amazingly full of taste, the veg and home made Yorkshires. Staff open and friendly couldn't do enough for you, we will be back for sure. We had an evening meal too again good food off the menu. Dont drive past as would be your loss.

Arrived to find the place locked up and with no signs of life anywhere - should have be suspicious at that point. A woman (the infamous 'Chris' we later found out) shouted down from an upstairs window to say she would let us in, then the first thing she did was to produce a card machine and ask for full payment for our booked stay whilst at the same time announcing the place would not be open that evening so no food would be available! She then showed us to our room via a musty, tired hallway. On entering the room she stood behind the door (all will be revealed!) and said the en-suite was behind another door and then left us to it. We could then see why she stood where she had - because behind the door - in the bedroom was a washbasin! We then couldn't believe it when we looked into the 'en-suite' - it was about 3 feet wide and 10 foot long! All it contained was a toilet at one end and a shower at the other - with no shower curtain between! The room window had a failed double glazed unit which was all misted up. By then we realised we had been badly misled (to put it very, very mildly) by the review ratings we had seen for the place and we should have left and demanded our money back there and then. However, for several personal reasons we didn't and decided to reluctantly accept we had landed up in a very poor establishment which seemed to be on its 'last legs'. Later that night when we lowered the roman blind the bottom concealed half was covered in black mould - absolutely disgusting! To cut a long story short - the cooked breakfast was OK, but no more than that. The place was virtually deserted and we were very glad to leave and put it behind us. We cannot, for a moment, believe all the high scoring reviews made for this place - they do seem to have a talent for including pictures of lovely meals and happy people in their advertising which was certainly nothing like our experience! Never, ever again will we be staying at The Balnoon!!!

Just a great place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble (Thanks to Chris) The location is ideal. Its a place you hope to find and you'll always be prepare to recommend. The breakfast was good and always cooked how we like it. No problem with parking. St Ives is only 10 min away and all the other main places can all be reached within 1 hour drive.

If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of St Ives town centre then this is for you. At about 2.5 miles from the town Centre I would recommend you came to the Balnoon Inn by car. Plenty of parking space. You can use the Park and Ride of the St Ives Rugby football grounds (£6/d) and take the shuttle into town (£2.50/pp). The Balnoon Inn has a pleasant interior, the staff is friendly, efficient and accommodating. Chris is a lovely host and does a really nice breakfast. Room #1 is pleasantly adjusted with a comfortable bed and tea and coffee. Two let downs though. 1) A broken double glazing window which makes the room humid with some traces of mould on the blind and doors 2) A shower cubicle with toilet no bigger than 2ft x 7ft. Not a great showering experience. Ok you don’t spend your life in the bathroom/toilet but still a bit more comfort for the price was expected.
