We stayed one night at Liscombe Lodge. The weather wasn't the best but the staff made up for it! Chester was an awesome river boat tour captain with boundless knowledge of the area (he should have it, he's hardly ever left in his entire life!). The entire lodge staff went above and beyond at every little thing. We felt very welcome and appreciated. We were truly happy with our stay.

The resort is the only accommodation for miles. It was only the second weekend opening of the season. Full opening was another week. The accommodation is tired. Needs updating and a lick of paint. Food was reasonably priced and good quality, particularly the breakfast and the staff were helpful. Setting is lovely.

Go to Liscombe Lodge if you love nature and the perfect blend of activity (hiking, kayaking, swimming) and relaxation (bird watching, campfires, playing board games, great meals). And the staff are just great! We love the chalets by the Liscombe River and the sound of the falls. We have been here many times and cannot say enough good about the overall experience!

Rather old fashioned but comfortable lodge in natural setting. Would be ideal for family as had zoo, walks etc. We used the pool - rather tired looking but warm water and we had it to ourselves! We ate in the restaurant as a long drive to go anywhere else and were pleasantly surprised - very tasty chickpea curry was recommended and enjoyed. Think worth booking on arrival as can be busy with coach parties. Choice of wines and beers. All staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was well equipped but the furnishing was eclectic. Had tv, sofa, dining table in the corner and a 4 poster bed which had a piece of wood underneath which I didn’t want to look at why😁. Needed a step to get on the bed, was nervous about a run and jump with the wood holding something together/up😁. It was comfortable enough. Room wasn’t ready when we arrived and were told to come back in thirty minutes, we asked if there was anywhere to have drink while waiting and were told there was a restaurant 🤷‍♀️. We did get a drink and the staff were great so we booked for dinner. Dinner was very nice and we took out desert and drinks to have in the room, forgot to say it had a balcony overlooking the river which was nice. We did have breakfast the following morning which was a self serve buffet. There are walks and a boat trip on offer from the lodge which seemed reasonably priced.

We were sadly disappointed with our riverside chalet at the Liscombe Lodge. It is in serious need of a total renovation—ver run down to say the least. To make matters worse the room had not been properly cleaned. We did voice our concerns to management and they reduced the room rate to compensate for the cleaning issue. The facility has so much potential, it just needs a lot of TLC. The meal we had at the restaurant was very good and staff are friendly. Hiking trails are nice but not spectacular.

This lodge stood out from other places we stayed in Nova Scotia. Here's why - they managed to combine a "homey" personal feel with outstanding customer service in a gorgeous setting. The cabins are well appointed and newly updated, but retain the character of a cabin. Many of the cabins are directly alongside a scenic river (see the pictures).

The place was filthy! We had to drive down the highway to our cottage which was right on the highway. There was no Wi-Fi, no place to plug anything in, no gluten-free options, no gym despite seeing photos, pool was filthy. Staff were rude. We had to make a dinner reservation and breakfast reservation, even though the restaurant was empty both times. The staff were cold, and we spent our dinner, listening to our server, complain to another table about management. we were supposed to stay four nights but we only stayed one night.

Room was large, quiet, and clean with balcony overlooking river. There was a whirlpool bathtub in the bedroom area, which was not expected. Resort has hiking and walking trails but we arrived too late in day to go up to the falls. Tried to take the shorter trail on other side of bridge but it had not been maintained and was flooded out. During dinner at restaurant, staff were very attentive and salmon was cooked well. Breakfast buffet was okay
