Rawcliffe House Farm

We have just spent 2 nights in the Gowland Studio room on a short trip to the north Yorkshire Moors and would highly recommend staying here. Jan and Duncan are extremely friendly and welcoming hosts making you feel right at home from the get go. The location is perfect, beautifully quiet surrounded by farmland that affords a lovely start to the day with some great walks from the accomadation itself. The moors are just a short drive away as is the towm of pickering (10 mins) that has everything you need. Gowland studio itself was beautifully clean, lovely and warm and just right for tired legs at the end of the day. We would definately recommend for a quiet get away.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. The 2 bedroom cottage we stayed in was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners are so very kind and friendly , giving great advice about the area and places to visit. We used here as a base to go on the many cycle trails locally. It is very rural with nothing around, but that was perfect for us. Great place for children to play on the park and huge field , where all the animals are around for them to see. We definitely recommend here and will be returning

I returned to Rawcliffe House Farm Holiday Cottages after several years, this time as a solo traveller. I stayed in Hindburn Cottage which was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. I was only here for 4 nights and wished I could have stayed longer. I definitely will be back,hopefully next year or sooner. Jan and Duncan are very friendly and approachable and should be very proud of what they have achieved.

What a wonderful find - this perfectly peaceful place offering cottage and holiday lets was ideally located for Pickering, the North York Moors and on to Scarborough and Whitby. We'd selected a one bedroom cottage - Hindburn - which was fully equipped with a great kitchen - fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, some lovely crockery - dining table and chairs plus two cosy armchairs in front of the fire in the main room. The bedroom next door was bright and airy with plenty of storage and led directly to the ensuite. Both the main room and the bedroom had vaulted, beamed ceilings and the cottage had lots of nods to its more traditional past. The ensuite was great, with ample towels and a really good shower. The surrounding land is farmland with sheep and cows in neighbouring fields and ducks and chickens on the farm around the pond. Each holiday cottage has furniture to the front and rear of the properties to make the most of outside space - when weather allows. We were unlucky to visit when a wet weather system had been dominant across the north of the country for some time which meant everywhere about was quite wet, and we had cloudy skies so couldn't experience the night skies we'd hoped to with the stars and planets on show. Our hosts, Duncan and Jan, were great to chat to, full of helpful advice as to places to visit, local pubs, shops etc and in the cottage was a pack containing lots of walks or drives for those wanting to explore. They were also really accommodating in the lead up to our stay. Lovely people. We definitely hope to come back, maybe more Spring time next time though!

Wonderful hosts and accommodation. Everything you need for a home from home. Truly peaceful location on the Yorkshire Moors. The whole family loved the animals on the farm, especially the goats Bill and Ben. Whitby, York and Scarborough all close by to drive to, but also plenty of walks around the moors are on the doorstep.

The cleanest holiday cottage I've ever stayed in Beautiful location, Jan and Duncan are wonderful people can't do enough for you will definitely be returning Well done guys 5 stars + Internet speed great also
