Best Staveley Hotels

"Because it’s just the weekend in the Lake District, the lakeside hotels are basically fully booked or the price is very high. All are just a little farther away from the lakeside, but this B&B is worth recommending, it must be some distance away from Windermere, but if it is a self-driving car, It’s only a 10-minute drive away. Below the hotel is an English-style bar, and the upper floor is a hotel room, but the rooms are very quiet and unaffected. The rooms are designed in a British style, clean and well-equipped. The only downside is the flowers. The sprinkling water pressure is slightly lower"

"The location is perfect, right next to the train station and it's very easy to spot the entrance. The cleanliness is definitely a work in progress. The key areas were very clean, such as the bed, the wardrobe etc. However there was dust on small things like the towel holders, behind the cupboards etc. (The only reason I checked was because my allergies were acting up but only in the room). A few cobwebs in the room that you only really notice when you're just relaxing. The bathroom was clean but in the grouting there was mould in there, so it needs sorting. The beds are uncomfortable, they're really hard on your back and both me and my partner have left with sore backs after staying, I booked a double bed and it's two single beds pushed together which would be fine if the mattresses weren't so firm. The reception staff both over the weekend and weekdays were so lovely, very friendly and welcoming and i can't fault them whatsoever. The team that refreshes the room were also lovely, very accommodating and friendly, they topped everything up in the room fast without asking and were also great. The night porter unfortunately needs an attitude adjustment, his tone and the way he speaks to you just isn't okay. Having a lovely day and coming back to the night porter being rude wasn't pleasant. All in all a lovely stay with only a few minor complaints."

"The hotel is located on the mountainside of the lake. It is an old-style British hotel with a history of more than 300 years. Extra beds can be charged for children with children."

"It's a Relais & Châteaux hotel, but this was the only room available when I made the reservation. I didn't expect it to be so small. If you can afford it, book a larger one. It's comfortable to stay in and there's a Michelin restaurant downstairs."

"Wonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog! Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price. We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners. All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful. We will be back!"
