The Log Cabin Lodge

Breathtaking views. Kind and attentive staff! Loved the connections we made which started with our wine tour driver, Neil. Neil introduced us to a black women owned winery, Mhudi, with delicious wines! Neil also introduced us to his friend, Dam, who gave us an amazing tour of Kayamandi township! Loved the breakfast which started with yogurt and home made granola. Great choices also offered for dinner. Wonderful location for visiting sites in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We would love to return!

The log cabin was a serene and welcome reprieve from busy Cape Town. It's the perfect place to relax amongst incredible mountainous views. The service was top class. We felt so looked after from the minute we stepped foot onto the property. The venue has also been decorated with so much character and care for it's guests. The meals were delicious and so fresh. It's worth having dinner here at least one night, despite the many options at your fingertips in Stellenbosch. If you like pets, there are also adorable dogs and cats who walk around and greet you throughout your stay!

This log cabin was one of our most incredible highlights of our South Africa travels. The perfect combination of luxury, wildlife, views, food and ambience. I can’t speak highly enough of this place! The rooms are so clean and big, the staff are so friendly and the chef is brilliant at breakfasts and dinners. The chef was truly brilliant at explaining everything and shows a great passion for his work. The photos of the 360 views don’t do it justice- incredible. We will no doubt be back next year. To top it off, lovely dogs simba and Sabrina were adorable and welcoming! Helene had great communication too. Thank you!! 100% stay at least 3 nights

I had the most incredible experience. Initially, I considered canceling as my plans had changed, but arriving at this place completely transformed my mood. The friendly kitty cat and dogs instantly made me feel welcome and special. The cat even came into my room, curled up beside me, as if encouraging me to stay and enjoy the tranquility. The surroundings were absolutely breathtaking—a serene dam, the majestic Stellenbosch mountain range, vineyards rolling across the hills, the gentle rustle of wind through the trees, and lush, vibrant gardens. The stillness of nature brought a deep sense of calm. On a peaceful walk to the dam, friendly dogs accompanied me, sitting by my side as I admired birds gliding gracefully over the water. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Christmas dinner was extraordinary, with a well-curated wine list that complemented the meal. While I had planned to eat dinner alone, the owner invited me to join his table, a gesture that perfectly captured the warmth of the environment. The chef went above and beyond, personally visiting the table to ensure everything was perfect, offering thoughtful suggestions, and explaining each dish. The attentive waitstaff made sure our glasses were never empty, creating a flawless dining experience. The following morning, breakfast was equally delightful. I was touched to see the chef picking fresh mint from the garden to garnish my plate. It was an awe-inspiring experience, filled with warmth, exceptional hospitality, and memories that will stay with me forever.

Stay was perfect. Beautiful setting. Friendly people in the Cape as a whole. Rooms a little strange with no dividing walls between room, WC and shower. No tv! Otherwise a great week.
