Accidentally booked the wrong day. Didn't get a refund and no rooms were available. The staff couldn't do anything, and didn't know of any other hotels, even though there turned out to be any number of them. Quite rude in there treatment, and completely unwilling to help. So we lost the money, and where still on the street as it turned out.

The staff are very friendly and some have been there for years. Since the operator is constantly changing, there is no "soul" in the hotel. There is little motivation to improve the hotel because the staff of a foreign hotel chain can hardly make changes on their own.
The hotel is clean, but very old without any renovation in the last 30 years (we come regularly!!!).
The smoking bar in the building can really fill up the hallway and sometimes the rooms (depending on the location).
The Italian restaurant in the building is very good.
The rooms are very dark due to the lack of ceiling lighting, only floor lamps with energy-saving bulbs. No possibility to charge your cell phone by the bed.
No allergy-friendly rooms. Beds are covered in fabric, so not for people with dust allergies.
The breakfast buffet is completely OK, although nothing special. Selection of rolls, bread, croissants, sausage, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, tomatoes/cucumbers/peppers, 6 jams, honey, 2 juices, tea, coffee machine.
Sauna available (never used, so no comment).
Parking from 12€/day, or on the street.
Location on the outskirts of town (Stockelsdorf), not within walking distance of Lübeck's old town. Good as a stop on the way to the Baltic Sea/Denmark, as it is not far from the motorway.

The room was not ready on arrival at 15:30. It was supposed to be ready at 3 p.m.
It would take up to 3 hours before we could get the room. We waited the first hour at the hotel, but when nothing happened, we went into town to look.
Really bad style and service.

The hotel is located on the Lübeck city border with Stockelsdorf.
The bus stop towards the city center is nearby, but the frequency is not that convenient - about every half hour.
The standard rooms are very old, the bathroom is a negative surprise with a shower curtain and ugly deposits in the shower, sink and toilet. Instead of a queen or king-size bed, there are single beds pushed together. In addition, a better room category in the renovated hotel area was explicitly booked via Trip.com for the same price. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the coffee preparation was delicious.
