I took my wife here for Mother’s Day and we were very disappointed. The window frames were rotten, the bath had scum dried around the top part of the bath, extremely dusty. No privacy as the showers and bath are in the bedroom the connecting children’s room has no door into the main bedroom with an open bathroom! We had our evening meal at the hotel which was terrible to the point we forfeited our paid for breakfast and went elsewhere to eat, in the fear of eating a terrible breakfast too. We also witnessed a chef coughing all over the food he was preparing without covering his mouth. Avoid avoid avoid

Fabulous hotel with quirky rooms. We stayed for 2 nights . Lovely Continental breakfast is included in the online price if you book direct. The over night oats were lovely and sourdough toast with all preserves was more than adequate. We had dinner in the lovely restaurant. A log fire and candles on all the tables created a great ambiance. The food was delicious and the steak was one of the best I’ve had and not overpriced . Great attention to detail with linen napkins , good quality cutlery and spotless wine glasses . The staff were all very , friendly polite and attentive. Our large room overlooked the garden and was very peaceful. We had a great nights sleep. The very large bed and pillows were so comfortable and had good quality cotton bedding . The shower was powerful and plenty of hot water . The bath towers were huge and spotlessly white and fluffy We will be back - thank you

The staff where brilliant here, checked into our room number 6. It was so nice looked over the square. The bed was just gorgeous The room was so dark and quiet We slept so well. The shower in the morning was the best we have had in any hotel. The towels where fluffy and lovely. During the day our room was cleaned while we was out Breakfast was so nice We had 2 nights We would definitely recommend and we will come again. We loved it Thank you

Stopped in for drinks. Friendly service . Sat in the bar which was very charming and warm. Ordered the pie for two. It was Steak and Ale pie that was accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. It was fabulous. Best I’ve ever had. Then we decided to have the Sticky Toffee pudding. Also wonderful. This by far is the best place to eat in Stow.

Very pleasant meal and friendly staff , we’ve been here before and always enjoyed our visits , I had the venison and it was cooked to perfection , my wife had a selection of starters and sides as a main course and all were delicious , in particular the carrots with a creamy type dressing , the flavour was amazing , well done to all the front and back of house staff , a credit to the Stag

Restaurant only review. Lunch for two and it was a very good experience. Very good standard of cooking with an interesting menu and a good selection. Pubby atmosphere with log fires made it cosy and comfy, 'pubby' without being crowded or noisy. Cooking is of a very high order indeed. We had calves liver (could have been cut a little thinner maybe), but well cooked nonetheless and venison, the latter was utterly superb. A difficult meat to cook well, but this was tender, succulent and very tasty. Good selection of vegetable side dishes, more variety than normal. All in all very good indeed. Slap in the middle of the market sq. so plenty of parking and a nice walk round lovely Stow as well.

I was so looking forward to the experience of staying here. We had two rooms (1 for the adults and 1 for the older children) GOOD - Upon checking into the adult's room I was concerned as we were near the main door/laneway but it was very quiet and peaceful. - The kid's twin room in the next building was lovely and a good size. They loved their room and took plenty of selfies. - The Staff were welcoming and pleasant. - WIFI stable. - The pub was small but very pleasant AVERAGE - Maybe a shelf or somewhere to put a large suitcase. - Supply conditioner would be nice. - The venue's photos are like the rooms but there is some wear and tear you don't see and the rooms are quite small. - Neighbour bins were in the way of the carpark entrance. - Difficult to find rear carparks and def would not try in the dark. QUIRKY - Doorway and floor were all on an angle. - Short doorway SUGGESTION - Would have to have known more about the history of the buildings. Maybe a tour or history session or wall could be added.

Dirty room and so small, paid extra for another room, slightly bigger but still not worth the money. No storage for clothes and bathroom grubby, and very low water pressure for showers. Will never stop or recommend this hotel. Their excuses it's a old building is a poor response.
