I was nearby the venue for the weekend (usually a 3 hour commute) and it was recommended by a few people, I’d only ever heard great things so I decided to book a ticket and pop along for the day. Upon arrival there was a small queue (about 3 cars) and once I was at the front I saw that the entrance was steep. I drive a lowered car so I did my best to angle the car to avoid having to take off any body panels. However my rear bumper had caught on the ground and was stuck, inevitably it would snap the bands (quick release) and pop off. MY friend I was with was still at the first Marshall at the entrance so I believed I had the time to quickly detach the rear bumper and place it at the side of the entrance out the way. However, as soon as I exited my car I had the first Marshall rightfully so telling me I needed to keep moving, by this point I had a small queue of stationary cars behind me that could all quite clearly see what I was doing and the Ferrari directly behind me could clearly see my bumper had grounded and wouldnt make it into the entrance, I had already started moving the bumper out of the way. I called to the Marshall whilst I was moving the bumper to explain that I needed to move the body panel out of the way to which he began shouting at me constantly, telling me No you can’t do that here, you need to move, Don’t do that there, get out the way we need to keep cars moving. He kept repeating this. Whilst I appreciate he has a job to do and the importance of getting people in and off of a busy road it had taken me less than a minute to move the bumper out of the road and I continued to apologise as I made my way into the venue. The cars behind seemed completely unbothered, I had apologised to the Ferrari behind me also. Not once did your member of staff offer to help me, he continued to shout at me. I drove in and again explained that even if I moved my car at that point my bumper was blocking the road. So I still would have needed to get out and get the bumper to the side. The cars behind me would have still been blocked by my bumper. It’s also important to note that the car in front of me (my friend) was still only at the second Marshall by the first tent. So the queue of traffic would have still been there. Maybe 2 cars less, but still there. Needless to say, I had payed for a ticket and expected to be respected as a paying customer and a fellow car enthusiast. I was parked and retrieved my bumper from the main entrance, feeling rather embarrassed. I know not everyone desires to have a low car but as a car venue your staff should understand that there are multiple aspects of the car scene and each one should be treated equally. As I said not once was I offered help, just shouted at from the top of the entrance whilst being watched, struggling. After an hour I felt it was time to leave, the food and the fellow car enthusiast’s were the highlight of the day. I chose to double check the exit, to prepare and warn the exit Mars

Expensive for a basic room although staff very polite. Food was good but the long wait in a empty restaurant was a puzzle...you need to be aware it's a car venue with lights and loud cars into the night. Set really good as long as its not too busy.

A perfect setting for us as car enthusiasts. We used this as a base to explore the local area. The staff were amazing and treated us like friends. We stayed in room 7 and can’t fault it at all. You can tell everyone loves their jobs here and we definitely loved staying. Will be back as soon as possible, deffo worth the drive down from Glasgow!

We stayed here for one night in room 6 overlooking car park entrance area. Really well thought out rooms with themed decor, very clean and lovely bedding. We ate and drank in the basic but cool bar restaurant area, the staff seem very proficient and friendly, loved our stay and will return. The parking was well managed and full marks to the staff who stood out in freezing conditions.

We stayed at the venue and was not disappointed! The staff were absolutely amazing the room was absolutely gorgeous overlooking the front car park (room8). The room was warm and clean the bed and bedding was soft squishy and just sooooo cwtchty! (It’s a Welsh thing!) Being Gluten Free I wasn’t expecting much just the basics…but nope! This chef made sure I had any foods GF. Delicious pizza to smashed burgers . What more do I need! Staff were just awesome nothing was too much trouble will definitely being making this trip for a stay over again. Everything was just perfect

Between the 15th & 17th September my wife & I and friends stayed at Caffeine & Machine and had been looking forward to it after a hectic year of work so far, furthermore having read a recent interview with owner of the venue in a reputable motoring press (Evo) which only heighten the anticipation of the stay to come. Upon arrival and after driving some fairly decent driving roads to the venue we arrived and parked our cars out the front and checked in. My wife and I were staying in Room 8 (only room with a bath, steep stairs to the room) and our friends stayed in Room 1. Our room was clean, modern and boutique in style with a great bathroom, however the bed was very soft and some of toiletries had not been checked properly from the previous check out including a set of opened ear buds in a box. Undeterred we began to relax with drinks outside as the weather was glorious and watched a varying array a people's pride and joy turn up until the early evening, we then ordered food of which we ate inside. The food portions were large, tasty and in style of a gourmet burger joint and after which we retired outside to see staff marshalling the car park as people entered. In fact the the complete duration of our stay the staff were friendly, helpful and had a relaxed vibe about them and the whole place felt organised with a sense of community. As the world continue to change at pace, a place like this will become even more important to those who want to be the last bastions of the internal combustion engine on four wheels or two and who have petrol flowing their veins (Super Unleaded!). If they only applied a mantra of a certain Californian resto-mod company then the stay would of been spot on. We wish them both well both at this venue and at there new venture. We will be back! Have visited many times but this was our first overnight stay. We were greeted by Lyn who then showed us to our room and explained in detail what to expect. Our room was Number 3 and it was vast and had everything we could possibly need. Attention to detail and decor were on spot on. Bed was huge and we had a really comfortable nights sleep. Bathroom was lovely, huge shower. When we went for dinner we were approached straight away for our drinks order and they arrived 2 mins later, food arrived 15 mins after ordering. Food portions were huge and our meal was lovely. Breakfast was the same standard. Served immediately and nothing was too much trouble. Friendly and welcoming from beginning to end. Every time we needed anything we were helped straight away with a smile and this was on extremely busy Saturday and Sunday. Price of stay and price of food was definitely deserving. Thank you to Lyn and all the team we cant wait to stay again

We had been looking forward to this weekend away since last year when we booked it, one of our few weekends away we get as a family due to other commitments. After coming off a night shift on the Saturday morning and a long drive to get to C&M, I was looking forward to a good nights sleep before having to get up at 5am for our onward journey on the Sunday to a planned event. Well that didn’t happen! I was woken by our son, as a drunk male was banging and attempting to gain entry into the hotel in the early hours, through the glass doors to the bar at the front, right under our window. The police arrived a short while later and found him inside the property after gaining access through the cellar and setting off the alarm. I raised it with the manager the next day via email and explained my concerns about security with a hotel full of people and no one on site for issues like this as the male could have been anyone or done anything. It turned out to be a drunk guest, but in the response received I don’t feel Caffeine and Machine were really interested in my complaint but more interested in me leaving a bad review. Such a shame as we have been before and loved the place, the food is always excellent, the staff so friendly and the relaxed vibe great for all ages. We just feel very disappointed that after months of waiting for this weekend away we were walking zombies for the following day and couldn’t wait to get home to get some sleep after being kept up the majority of the night at Caffeine & Machine. A very disappointing stay!
