Inconvenient location and nice staff The staff are quite friendly and nice. The location is... a bit hard to say. If you are a nature lover, u probably enjoy the walk in the neighborhood. There're hills and nice houses nearby. Around 5 min walk from the hotel, there's a nice track called Strathblane Railway Path. But if you want to get to the city centre, and you can't drive, you can only get there by a bus which is 50 min ride (note that it's 1 to 2 hour frequency). I waited for the bus at the buschanan bus station on Saturday at 7pm (it's scheduled at 7:10pm) and the bus went missing. I asked staff at the bus station and they told me to find the help desk but it was closed and the hotline was also shut down. I waited for the next bus at 8:35pm and luckily it did arrive. So make sure you check the bus schedule if you are going for a tour/taking train in the city centre!!!

On a recent return to the kirkhouse inn I was totally surprised by the newly refurbished room 12 . This is simply a beautifully presented room spacious with a small adjoining snug . This is the suprise it comes with a small vynl record player and a selection of vynl to select. This added with the colourful selection of great photographs of the classic portraits. Just brilliant loved it . As per all my visits the food and service can not be faulted and especially to young Callum who greeted me with a warm welcome. If the ongoing refurbishment continues on the same level then the kirkhouse will definitely be a real must for a over night . Well done

Firstly, fantastic staff, who were so pleasant and obliging. The meal in the evening was well presented and tasty, and the breakfasts in the morning couldn’t be faulted, first class. However the rooms are slightly dated, and all the blinds were broken, with the chains coming away in yours hands. A bit TLC was required, but comfy enough beds with clean sheets. The areas downstairs were not the best. A couple of roudy drunks lads sat next to us in the lounge area, swearing loudly and being off putting to those enjoying a drink. Bar was loud with those playing pool. Could do with a separate area closed off with a door. Apart from that an enjoyable experience and would recommend this place to anyone visiting

Lovely one night stay here. We had nice lunch on arrival and breakfast the next day was first class. We arrived back at 1145 after a wedding and would comment that in our bedroom it was quite noisy with what we presume was staff clearing up for the night and that continued for quite some time. Would agree with a previous comment about the walls being very thin as we heard heavy snoring from the room next door. Would stay again but will request a different room.

Stopped here for a meal as it had been a long since we ate here and it has changed Management I think over a few years. Anyway very nice decor, food expensive. Bit of a strange set up in the sense they seem to have 3 dining areas with a bar & sky tv and a pool table in the middle! Food was nice and large portions. What let them down big time was their ‘Restrooms’. I had to mention to a staff member the ladies toilets were requiring attention. Personally, I hate these signs Management put up to the effect ‘please leave the toilets in the condition you found them in’. Really, come on staff should be checking these periodically. My partner said the Gents was unpleasant to say the least. No plans to return.

Lamentable experience at the Kirkhouse Inn for a family meal for 3pm, which ended with a walkout and no meal! Arrived to find no table settings for booking made a couple weeks earlier, even though we'd called back of 2pm to say we were running late. People joining us had arrived first and felt no one knew they were coming.. Place was dead - we know why now - and dirty dishes to be collected from neighbouring table. A very young bar staff member went to get manager when we asked what was going on? When no one arrived at our adopted table, we went back out to bar and the young staff member went again to get a manager. This person listed to my by now indignant complaint but there was no sense of contrition or regret and merely said, we will sort it - no sense that it was just not up to standard experience or regret gorbour disappointing reception. I suggested testily that an apology might be warranted and headed back to the waiting party, in the off chance the manager might come to table. We waited and waited. No sign of anyone. We decided to phone the reliable Glazert Country House in Lennoxtown and secured a great table, lovely food and friendly service instead. They made our day! Kirkhouse Inn, you really really have to pull your socks up. We will not be back until you do. Poor poor show for a once popular casual eating spot.

First of all both my wife and myself like this place as we have stayed before. We booked a recently upgraded double room. The decor is lovely but there were many major issues. 1.The walls are paper thin. We were woke up at 6 am on a Sunday morning by a couple next door laughing/giggling and talking very loud. 2.No hot water in a very weak shower. 3.No bin for rubbish in the room? 4.Door lock needs replacing. We shouldn't need to stand for 5 minutes trying to lock a door to the point we gave up and left our room unlocked. Downstairs the bar and restaurant is lovely and our breakfast was delicious. The young staff are very nice apart from one female who was very rude throwing down your drink and had a severe frown on her face. Needs to learn a bit of charm to work in the Hotel industry. Both myself and my wife stay in Hotels around the West of Scotland very regularly. Overall we still like this hotel but a lot of work is still needed to get it to a high standard considering it is quite expensive to stay there. We paid £85 for the 2 of us for for b+b which was a special offer on Facebook. The normal price is £160. There is absolutely no way we would pay the normal price as it is very overpriced for what you are actually getting. So in a Nutshell lots of things to get improved.
