Hotel Boston

We had an ok stay but this was the worst accomodation we had during a 1 month trip around Europe. The location is great as it’s very close to the train station and the lake. However, it was not a very comfortable stay for 3 main reasons: 1. The wifi didn’t work in our room 2. There was no hot water for a shower at night 3. Despite receiving email confirmation before arriving that we would have a double bed, our room had 2 old single beds that had been pushed together. These couldn’t be slept on as a double because: they were on unlockable casters, so easily moved on the tiled floor, the mattresses deeply sagged in the middle so there was a ridge on the edge of each of the mattresses, and, they were made up with single linen. In addition, we didn’t use the balcony we were looking forward to as it looked straight onto a construction site. So all in all, we were disappointed.

Our second stay at this hotel (first was 2022). Happy to say it did not disappoint. Hotel has been extended since then, with a much bigger breakfast room (with outside seating option now). Great location, only 150m from lake shore. Most (but not all) rooms have a view of the lake. Ours was on the top (4th) floor, facing the lake, with a balcony (very small, but usable for two people). Good-sized room. Adequate bathroom. Shower cubicle small for me - I'm over 6 foot tall - and nowhere to put your shower gel - but we coped. All clean and functional. Air conditioning effective and quiet. Very welcome refrigerator and kettle in our room (405). Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast.

We found this hotel while searching for somewhere to stay on Lake Maggiore. We were in Brig in Switzerland at the time and had been looking on the internet for a hotel near the lake in Stresa. We booked this hotel and what a great hotel it is, it's beautifully decorated it has nice sized comfortable rooms with balconies and it's 2 minutes walk from the lake and front of Stresa. The big bonus for us was that it also had underground parking which was great for us as we were are on a 6 week touring holiday on our Motorcycle. The staff at this hotel are so helpful and pleasant to talk to it just makes the stay even better. We will definitely recommend this Hotel to our friends if there thinking of coming to lake Maggiore everything about it was perfect for us just a great place to stay.

We first had a large room for two but the drain in the shower was clogged and since it's was an Italian shower there was water all over the bathroom (not to mention that we never get hot water). So they changed our double room to a way smaller one with 2 tiny single beds, the kind of room that only fits to teenagers but not to fully grown ups. And we realized the next morning that our room was in the old part of the hotel, and that our window was right above the renovation works in the street ! which implied being awake at 08h00. The walls are so thin you can hear people in the room next door to yours (including taking their shower) the beds are not comfortable (the mattress is stiff), the sheets are harsh (limit scratchy) the comfort in the room is very limited, and for those who cares there are no other channels on TV than Italian ones. The breakfast is catastrophic : the choice is limited and the quality of what is proposed is industrial ! forget about the freshly squeezed juice or the tasty ham, you can see that everything comes from the store right next door (namely conad). So unless the comfort of the room in the new section of the hotel is entirely different you can forget about this hotel ! We were supposed to stay 3 nights but we left after the second one; I've been to a lot of hotels in my life and it's the first time I'm leaving an establishment conscious that I'll be losing money doing so. To sum up : if you want to stay in Stresa, find another place !

The rooms are very small, only for sleeping, the visual arrangement is simple and not aesthetically pleasing, the beds are pushed from two camp-cots, the mattresses are not attached to them, there is no place to put things in the bathroom. But the biggest disappointment is the view. Got a room on the first floor without a balcony, although the price is the same as other rooms. The view from the window opens to the toilet and repair. If you want to enjoy the evenings in the room, this is definitely not the place to stay. Terrible experience and absolutely not enjoyable number. I am very disappointed, I will not come back here again. The only plus is the close location to the centrw.

Our choice of stay in Stresa for our anniversary proved to be a delightful three-star gem. The hotel graciously allowed us to check in early at 1 pm, setting a positive tone from the start. The staff also shared invaluable insights on local attractions and nearby towns to explore. Service at the hotel was attentive and accommodating. We were particularly impressed by the recently renovated breakfast room, which exceeded our expectations with its inviting ambiance and delicious morning offerings. Our room on the third floor provided us with lovely views of the lake, serving as a tranquil retreat throughout our stay. The cleanliness in both the room and the well-maintained bathroom were commendable. While the Wi-Fi signal was accessible throughout the hotel, we found it strongest on the ground floor and near the reception area. This minor inconvenience did not detract from our overall positive experience. One of the standout features of Hotel Boston is its ideal location. Just a short stroll from the enchanting lakefront, railway station, and embarcadero, we found ourselves perfectly positioned to explore the captivating surroundings at our own pace. All this left us with fond memories and a desire to return in the future.
