The guesthouse is very clean and has everything a family needs. The location is awesome & staff were all very friendly. The room is definitely cozy but it's in a small town and a traditional style house so that's expected. Our family loved it because it adds to the authentic Iceland experience!

What a gem! The location for Akkeri Guesthouse was perfect! Christina and her husband were the perfect hosts. The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. Located perfectly for all activities on the peninsula and walking distance to two excellent restaurants. Highly recommend Akkeri Guesthouse!

This place is adorable, spotless, well located and very reasonably priced. Kriztina, the hostess, was so accommodating and sweet. She ensured that the breakfast buffet had a variety of options, even when it was only the two of us for breakfast. We will definitely be back if we return to Stykkishólmur!

We stayed at the Akkeri Guesthouse for convenience; it is very close to the ferry terminal from which we needed to leave first thing in the morning as we headed north to the Westfjords. But the accommodation proved charming, with updated, modern decor and a private bath. The service was excellent; the woman who checked us in also made sure that we had dinner reservations at one of the two nicer restaurants in town. The breakfast was on the simpler side, but they will have it ready whenever you need it and the shared dining area is cozy and comfortable. This was also one of the more affordable places we stayed during our entire two weeks in Iceland. So, although not a luxury hotel, it met all of our needs and was a relative bargain!

Me and my husband had a lovely stay at Akkeri Guesthouse. It was very cosy and comfortable and our room had a balcony wich was ultra nice. It was my husbands birthday while we stayed there and we had some lovely treats sent to our room. The breakfast was great, similar to a 5 star hotel. Thanks a bunch, this was a great stay!

We learned that this place was converted from a restaurant. The interior has been thoughtfully laid out as a modern guesthouse. The rooms are very comfortable and relatively spacious compared to other guesthouses we visited in Iceland (private bathrooms are a nice luxury as well!). The communal breakfast area is bright and airy, and the breakfast, while mostly basic, was very competently presented as well. Highly recommended and we would return without hesitation! (and perhaps we will hopefully someday!)

We stayed in 7 hotels while in Iceland and this one was in my top 3. It is a small guesthouse in a perfect location while exploring the snaefellsnes peninsula. Our room was comfortable and a decent size . The bathroom was by far the biggest we saw in Iceland and the shower was great. The breakfast was delicious and the host was really nice! He even sold my husband some of his beers because we forgot to get some. It was very comfortable and clean. East walk to restaurants and harbor. Very idyllic, small Icelandic fishing village. Parking was easy and they even had a little outside area with seating. I highly recommend! My only complaint was the only mirror in the room was in the shower but no big deal!

We spent our first night in Iceland in this great guesthouse in beautiful Stykkisholmur. What a wonderful introduction to Iceland. The location is excellent - several good restaurant within a 100 metres. And Stykkisholmur is a perfect base for exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. But what makes this hotel really stand out is the hospitality of Steini and Kristina - thank you.
