I would definitely recommend Labranda Velaris Resort to anyone who wants a peaceful resort set in stunning gardens and a stones throw from the beach. I have just had 5 days with my family, consisting of 5 adults and 5 children . Including a toddler. The staff made our stay complete as they were friendly, helpful and smiley at all times. Nothing was too much trouble from the lovely ladies who cleaned our rooms and gave the boys directions to the nearest football pitch to the front of house staff and the friendly staff in the dining areas and lounge bar. The children wanted me to definitely recommend the amazing food and be assured they have tried virtually everything on the menu. . The rooms were well equipped, beds comfy (especially the fluffy pillows). The only slight gripe would be the shower over a very high sided bath that was dangerous getting in and out of for children and elderly patrons. Loved the beautiful cats and kittens and very pleased to see them fed daily with cat food. Toddler was in heaven to find ‘cat cat’ waiting for him every time we stepped in or out of the hotel. Will definitely be returning next year.

The resort itself is a 7 minute taxi ride from the port (around €15-20 in high season) or you can walk for about 25 minutes. There is ample parking available at €5 per day. I expected my reservation of a Deluxe Double Room with balcony and sea view to be exactly that. Disappointingly, the room provided in the ‘villa’ was on the ground floor with a terrace, an entrance door with frosted glass and the view from the window was obscured by a hedge. The room itself was also dated, fridge wasn’t working and there were carcasses of mosquitoes all over the walls. Ceiling in the bathroom was also peeling. A compensatory bottle of wine was provided under the circumstances. Given that a different room (matching my reservation description) wasn’t available, we had to stay put until being moved into another villa room the following day, in the same building but on an upper floor. This was clearly in better shape and did have a balcony. The resort itself is very well maintained and immaculately clean. The staff are welcoming and pleasant overall. There is access to an abundance of beach space and/or walkway which runs parallel to the beach, albeit very crowded in August. The beach bar offers a good selection of food and drink at relatively reasonable prices. The Olive buffet restaurant is huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food selection is excellent and very well presented, although €30 per person for dinner is a bit excessive irrespective of age (children’s pricing?) if you did not prepay for the meal plan. Soft drinks pricing (€3.90 for a small bottle of bitter lemon) is absurd. Breakfast at the Olive restaurant is included and as equally well presented with something for all tastes. Did not use the other facilities, but there are plenty available. Overall, I would recommend the resort but would encourage anyone to verify that room descriptions provided by your chosen web site or agent match the reality.

We had a perfect stay. The hotel , location and beaches were beautiful. The staff helpful and Friendly. The only thing I would recommend would be to serve dinner till 10pm rather than 9pm. Also the buffet could have had a wider variety of fresh fruit otherwise there was a great selection of food for all. This is only a recommendation not a complaint. Otherwise I would rate the hotel 10/10.

Booked a 7-day break for my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. Secret Escapes, which is a good company, so booked through them with flights and hotel recommendations. We took the Stanstead Express to the airport, and the flight to Split Croatia was no problem. Transfer to the hotel was chaotic with a shared transport to the ferry terminal with fellow travellers, none of which spoke our language and were probably locals returning home or going on holiday themselves. On arrival at the ferry terminal and overcoming the language difficulties, the rep suddenly realised we were on his list to get on the ferry, which was leaving in two or 3 minutes. My wife and I, in our mid-70s, had to negotiate the carrying of our cases and hand luggage onto the ferry with minutes to spare. Lovely crossing, which took about 55 minutes. Arrived at Brac Island, where we were ushered onto a huge coach with about 50 other travelers and eventually arrived at the Labranda HOTEL and Resorts. Had to drag our cases about 100 meters and then up a flight of stairs to reception. We were then told there was no porterage. Once booked in, we then had to drag our cases a further 200 mtrs after negotiating the flight of stairs down to our apartment, which we upgraded to one with a balcony. The staff at the hotel are excellent and friendly. The hotel is situated about a twenty-minute walk away by road or a 50-minute walk along the coastal path and 5 min to the beach. We preferred to eat our main meal out in the variety of restaurants in town and then have a slight snack at the hotel in the evening as we were on a half-board stay. There is more to tell but will end here. Hopefully, the trip back home is as eventful. as our stay on Brac Island.

Lovely location, nice walk to nearby small port, remember to bring rash shoes as there are no sandy beaches. We were AI and had no complaints over the quality and variety of food which was good. Drinks at both lunch and dinner are by waiter service only. Staff were attentive and in fact we were often refusing the offer of more wines and beer.Staff at the lobby bar were lovely and as equally attentive. As always you can purchase premium brand spirits but the prices were comparable to those at the bars at the port. AI Beer was in bottles and was the same brand as the bars being sold for 3 euros a bottle. Room was more than adequate and spotless. Only criticism was the fact that sun beds had been packed away for the winter and the beach bar closed when there was demand for both. WE ended up paying 10 euros a day for sunbeds outside of the hotel confines. We stayed the second week at the sister hotel on Hvar where both sunbeds and beach bar were available so this was obviously a poor management decision . Enjoyed our stay

Our booking through Voyage Preve was for a Superior Sea View Room with Balcony. We were given a dark and dingy ground floor room with “terrace” which was facing the sea. The basic furniture was cheap and had seen better days, the curtains were hanging of its rail and everything screamed of budget accommodation. The bathroom toiletries consisted of cheap soap and a foul smelling shower gel stuck to the wall. We did go back to reception to show them our printed reservation details and was told we had been given a Deluxe room! We felt as if we had come to a 2 star resort. During our stay we met other people who were complaining of the same thing and were hoping to get moved to better rooms. On return from our holiday I checked out the Labranda website and they show decent bedrooms, one wonders where they are as no-one we met had one. This resort should never be called 4 star, not even 3 star, and is definitely one to avoid.

Very good hotel in a great location near the harbour and the beach. Buffet area is large, very good choice of quality food. Pool is too small with few sunbeds. Pleasant reception and outside area for drinks. Beautiful views at breakfast overlooking the sea and forest. Staff generally helpful albeit not overly so with some requests (e.g. change for tips, late checkout). Outside terraces on ground floor rooms have dirty gullies. Had to repeat request to repair aircon + safe, albeit first world problems.

My friend and I booked and paid for a SUPERIOR ROOM WITH SEA VIEW AND BALCONY. We arrived and were allocated a double room (barely big enough to swing a cat in with a leaky shower and small double bed) but it did have a balcony with a view of the main road We complained and showed reception the booking confirmation to be told that there were no other rooms available as they were fully booked and basically had to take it - no apology offered. They offered to upgrade us from half board to all inclusive but we didn't really want that as we didn't want to be tied to the hotel all day every day. They told us to come back and check in 2 days as they had guests checking out then. We finally got a sea view but the room is barely bigger than the first one, but at least it has single beds! I'm not convinced this is a superior room as we had a peek in another room when it was being cleaned and it was much, much bigger and had a sofa in it as well. Food is OK but if you are only B&B or half board, at 30 euros each it's expensive for what is effectively a self service buffet. Quite disappointed with this experience and would not book here again. It came as no surprise to find that we were not the only guests to have this experience - we spoke to several other yellow band wearing guests.... It's almost like they deliberately over-book then blame the computer.

This hotel is a 3 star at best. The rooms are very dated and I agree with the last review regarding the bathrooms. We had a view of the car park. The facilities are awful, a tiny pool area far too small for the size of the resort, with completely inadequate umbrellas, a small bar area stuck in front of reception and absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever (and closed at 11am). The dining room is basically a canteen, and one night we listened to the same Rod Stewart song for 25 minutes on repeat. Outside area is good but most nights weather wasn’t good enough to sit outside. The food was the same every night and quality was very inconsistent. Breakfast is cleared away at 10am on the dot meaning a scramble to get food after 9:40. Raw eggs, stale bread, undercooked vegetables, and soup like dishwater amongst other things we encountered. Several beers listed on the dining room menu most of which were never available. On the plus side the grounds are lovely and the dining room staff are fantastic and a credit to the hotel, but we won’t be staying here again.
