57hotel is really beyond my expectation. I'm a solo traveller, the single room is just enough size and space for me! Clean, simple, no frills, and yet functional! Location is great, just a 5mins walk from central station, has loads of cafes around, great for coffee lover like me.
Coffee machine is available 24/7.
Complimentary pastries and cookies available every morning.
I will book again for my nx trip!
Room was quaint and cosy…very low lighting and very small sink…otherwise comfortable. The hotel overall has a wonderful decore….shabby sheik at its best. Good quality wine list ….. burgers were expensive but very good. Very central….however i expect weekends with DJ till early hours would make weekend stay difficult.
The location is pretty good. The tram station is right outside. The room is also larger than usual. When I booked it, it was only over 600. There was no price increase on weekends. It was very cost-effective. But there was no hair dryer.

Made a last minute booking due to broad train network failure and was unable to get home in a timely fashion. Location very convenient to Central station . The bar was buzzing and the staff were very friendly on check-in given I’d booked 10mins earlier on booking.com. They took me to my room and gave me a rundown of the services. While the rooms are old, they are clean and the linen and towels were good quality and the bed and pillows comfortable. It was a hot night and the A/C delivered keeping my peri menopausal at bay. I ordered a delicious meal from the bistro and was able to walk to work very well rested the next morning. I will happily stay there again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2022 and what a calamity of an experience. It even begun before we landed in Sydney with them cancelling our booking due to a water leak in the room they allocated to us. After trying to find alternative accommodation at the last minute we were then advised all was OK. The greeting when we arrived was good and we were shown our room located directly behind the communal kitchen (room 1). Apparently they supplied a continental breakfast each morning with bakery items, cereals, orange juice, coffee but you wouldn't know it because only on one morning of the four we were there we were greeted with leftover crumbs or one lonely croissant. On one morning there was even no milk, coffee or orange juice at all. This place does not have a manned reception which I have no issue with but each time we went downstairs to the bar to ask a question we were treated with distain from the girls working there. The room was spacey but just really poor hygiene and basic....very basic. Then to top it off on our final night the vanity in the bathroom fell off the wall and onto me throwing out all our toiletries and leaving me with a heavy bang on the head. They couldn't fix the problem and instead arranged alternate accommodation at another hotel so we had to pack up our bags and relocate unexpectedly. By the time we got to the other hotel it was 11:15pm and we had to leave the following morning. They didn't even offer us any compensation or at the very least a breakfast voucher considering we had only managed to get something to eat on 1 of the 4 mornings we were there. Just really poor service with little regard to how it impacted us. NEVER AGAIN.
We just finished an absolutely fantastic week-long stay here for the Women's World Cup. The staff is absolutely lovely and they went out of their way to help me out as I was on a scooter/crutches from an injury back home. We especially loved our chats with H who works overnight. The room was perfectly sized for my best friend and I and the bathroom had enough space for the two of us to use the mirrors in the morning as well. They even provided a little chair I could use in the shower as well. The hotel is located in a lovely brick building that used to be a convent and there are little portraits going up the stairs with historic information about the location. The rooftop terrace is a fantastic place to relax with a drink in the afternoon or evening and they have an evening Gin & Tonic cart where you can have a personalized cocktail for $10AUD. There's also a reasonably priced Honour Bar where you don't have to worry about being overcharged just because you're in a hotel. There's also a liquor store about 7 minutes away by walking if you want to bring in your own ingredients. The pastries available in the morning were delicious, though we did opt for local cafes generally after our morning coffee and tea. Really enjoyed Al Taglio and Shaffa for our local meals (pizza and Mediterranean) which are to your left and right as you exit through the Albion exit. The Surry Hills neighborhood is super charming and lovely. It's only about 5-7 minutes from Central Station and multiple other bus lines, so it's easily navigable from the airport and around Sydney in general. Absolutely loved our visit and we will 100% be back.
I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. It’s not a stellar street, directly opposite the train tracks but once you’re inside, it’s lovely. My room was quiet and away from the noisy street with its own terrace. It felt spacious, light and modern. The reception staff were absolutely amazing. There were about 4 of them interchangeably when I was there and they all showed the highest standards of service which I would more commonly associate with a luxurious 5 star hotel. The breakfast was a lovely touch. I would definitely stay again - it’s a good location for central Sydney and very peaceful.

This is a two bedroom and one living room, with kitchen and laundry facilities, two bedrooms with one queen bed and one double bed. In the kitchen, there are cups, cups, spoons and forks, as well as toaster dishwashers. It is great for us to bring Chinese food in Australia. We bought noodles, eggs, and cooked ourselves at a nearby supermarket. The breakfast was awesome. However, the hotel does not provide toothpaste toothbrushes and disposable slippers, only shampoo and bath products. There is also a very close to the city center. The bus stops 5 to 6 to the town hall. There is Woolworth around 500 meters. The disadvantage is that the bathroom door is not moving very well. The water will be hot and cold when you take a bath, and if you don’t need to take a bath Supplies, even if only a little left, it won't add new ones to you the next day.
We highly rated our stay: Really comfy bed Spacious rooms Clean, spotlessly clean No noise. We have stated in some really fancy hotels and they were horribly noisy but our room was so quiet. There was no street noise, no elevator noise, no noise from above/below/beside our room. Affordable. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Parking is available but minimal. The parking is tight but the staff are extremely skilled at assisting guests to park with ease.
I would highly recommend this Hotel - I have to travel to Sydney regularly for Business and its location near Central Station makes it an ideal hub. The staff are friendly and the management especially -Nick Thapa are responsive to any needs or concerns. Loved my stay and also enjoyed using Trip.com for the first time to book my stay.

Very Good
GGuest UserOn the ambience side, the decor and modern-ish art was uplifting and fun. The room was very clean. But, we were surprised to find the room so small. In order for 2 people to get into the bed, one had to crawl over the other. The very small window sill became the nightstand. There was no room for luggage, and no luggage racks - we were told they didn’t have enough. That meant one suitcase on the floor and one on the very small plastic table. The retro-refrigerator was cool, but my traveling companion kept threatening to move it out into the hall to create some space in the room the whole time we were there. And then, the very small bathroom, the shower door doubled as the door to the bathroom. Have you ever looked into a microwave? The shower and the bathroom walls had the same dot matrix pattern as a microwave door. My companion was surprised to see while showering she could see me relaxing on the bed, and when she screamed “can you see me?” I replied “yes”. My companion now has bathroom-PTSD. Not only was the shower see through, there was a full-room-view sitting on the throne, trying to do your business. Then the realization somebody may be watching. PTSD! Our solution was to use the downstairs public bathroom for major activities. Did I mention IBS???
GGuest UserI've stay there quite a long time during the 2021 year and I was feeling like I was at home. The number of guest was very low because of the Covid. The staff is nice and the small size of the hotel makes it feels as a second home. I've got good memories from this place
KKetilS51We hired the room in mid. February 2020, a double room with private bathroom. Stayed for two nights, had one day in Sydney, 3rd day morning went home. No sink in the bathroom, had to use the (‘kitchen’) sink in the room, the room was small. The twin bed was small but very comfortable, compare to the price the hotel was worth the price. Located beside the Central Station and we walked to the Opera House, not far. Very easy get to the airport from the CS. This hotel is OK for a shorter stay, but for a longer stay we would prefer an another place.
