Die Heks Se Huis is a very cosy accommodation suitable for individual and family travels. Enjoy the mesmerising stars and peaceful night of Sutherland, I am definitely going back.

I enjoyed staying here with my colleague. It was located at a very good place, so we were able to conduct our business with ease.

We stayed in Sutherland one night. The place doesn’t look like the best from the outside, but the owner was very kind and funny. Unfortunately the good things stop there. Our “cottage” was a complete disaster, starting from the door that wouldn’t even close properly (we had to put something in front of it from keeping it to open). It was definitely not clean, there was a lot of dust along with a bad smell that we couldn’t really identify. There was rust everywhere, from the shower to the sinks, and the toilet was definitely not clean! The beds seemed ok, but we both felt like there was sand or dust in the sheets, and the bad smell kept us from a proper sleep. The price is completely out of range, as for the same money we slept in some wonderful and very well kept places along the way Too bad because the lady that welcomed us seemed genuinely friendly and caring, but the place is a complete mess.

We were 14 people staying there and they had enough rooms with enough comfortable beds. We had every comfort we needed.. Had a lovely stay, very good value for money.

We were asked for remainder of payment before entering the house. If we had seen the state of the house we would have left immediately. It was filthy. The floorboards made our slippers black and it felt like we’d fall through them at any minute. They had not been cleaned in ages. The bath was filthy had a fat ring around top. The shower too and the doors didn’t close properly. There’s was dust everywhere. From the blinds to every countertop. Besides the grimy glue mark left from a sticker on the fridge the door was full of filthy finger marks. The doors were dirty. The skirting boards behind beds were full of dust. My hot blanket did not work. They left us about 6 pieces of wood. We had to go buy more. The host was so rushed. She didn’t give us a chance to study anything. I called her back in anger to get her to clean the place. She argued with every point. Making excuses about wind. I told her wind couldn’t leave a filthy ring around a bath and shower. She just swept the doorway and I had to insist she clean the bath and shower as she did not seem to think it was dirty. Standards are very low. Will never ever stay there again. Everyone was really upset.
