Nice spacious room. Bath with shower over, plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable but rolled into the middle. Staff polite and friendly. Good choice for breakfast and evening meals were plentiful with a good choice of menu. Drinks reasonably priced. Plenty of takeaways and shops nearby. Was staying there while working in the area and would definitely stay again

The accommodation was the best for me as a female by myself as I was in a room which was like a chalet which looked out onto the main road (room 3) and the walls were very thin, I could hear everything a man was saying next door which made me feel unsafe. however the food was amazing, excellent value, large portions and friendly and helpful staff. I had the king prawn linguine with pesto and parmesan and garlic bread. I can eat a lot but even this was to big for me! Superb

Rooms were basic but comfortable but some of the mattresses on the beds need to be replaced. The restaurant service and food were excellent - thank you to Jana for being a wonderful, attentive waitress who ensured that we had everything we needed 4 mornings running for breakfast. She even remembered our various specific dietary requirements. She is a credit to the hotel, along with the chef. However, on the other hand the receptionist (dark haired lady) needs a lesson in customer service. She was beyond rude when we asked for some photocopies to be done of some legal documents. These documents were the whole purpose of our journey from Canada and Cornwall to visit our father in hospital. She huffed, puffed and barely spoke a word, it was clearly too much trouble for her and a great inconvenience, the look she gave when asking for a 2nd document to be copied was beyond belief. She made it very clear that she had no interest in helping us. We were so intimidated by her that we were unable to sum up the courage to request a staple - that would tipped her over the edge and the repercussions were simply not worth it. What a shame that the hotel's reputation should be brought down because of the attitude of 1 single emplyee.

Very comfortable for business, good value with clean but dated rooms. Ample parking close to room, breakfast included and very acceptable. A short walk to the sea front but not much else nearby. Did not dine so cannot comment on the food, menu looked ok though.

A very warm welcome awaits for any visitor! Dont be put off by the dated rooms! The staff are the crowing glory in this establishment. The breakfast is cooked to perfection and is served hot. I have also dinned in the evening and it was always to a higher standard than the price you pay! Lots of close by parking. The hotel has a very good house keeping team that also runs a laundry service for patrons. I was lucky enough to stay here for a month and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. I highly recommend “The Abby Hotel”, arrive as a customer and leave as a friend.

A pleasant stay at The Abbey Hotel. We stayed at this hotel for a few nights while on vacation in the UK. Great value and also great rooms. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast at the attached restaurant and it was great. One of the nights they had live music and it was a blast. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to be in the area.
