Premier Inn Newcastle (Metro Centre)

Good stay with family whilst visiting family in the area, it is a little dated and missing some of the features of the newer Premier Inns. We had an issue with the heating in our room which we advised reception about - the thermostat didn't turn the heater off so it just got hotter and hotter! Good location, free parking, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and nice breakfast

Wrote my vehicle registration number on the checking/booking in form - the receptionist obviously didn't log my registration number and I've ended up with a parking ticket. Tried to telephone reception to get this rectified and continuously no answer. Won't be staying here again.

This was the closest available room to the airport. When I arrived the greeting was very good, the staff were excellent and very helpful. Once in the room I found hair clips on the floor and the bedside table had drink stains on it, this did not provide me with confidence. I had arrived late and just needed the bed for the night but there was music playing until the early hours. In the morning there was no hot water so had to manage with a cold shower. I didn't have time to raise the issue as I had to be at the airport. On checking out I reported the matter and the lady on the reception was very good about it....but what could she do? The staff were very good, but I was not impressed with my stay.

Lovely welcome and offer to book tables for us for dinner and/or breakfast. Receptionist was really friendly and chatted to us about our plans for the weekend. Room was clean and as expected for a Premier Inn. Convenient for visiting Metro Centre. Would recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a warm welcome from the lady on check in ,parking was free but you have to register your car on a tablet. was assigned room 225 in the main hotel in the 2nd floor as soon as I entered the room It had a smell to it and didn't smell fresh. the flooring in the bathroom was bubbling up and one of the bulbs in the bathroom had blown . In the main room there was only one roof light near the door and the rest over the bed this meant the room was dingy and not welcoming. There was additional glazing on the window but this didn't stop the road noise from the traffic. This hotel is in dire need of an update. I would stay here again once an update has been completed as the location is brilliant for the A1 and Metro centre .

We have stayed at this particular Premier Inn for the last 6yrs at the same time of the year. It has always been great but this time not so much. On a positive, the staff, as always were lovely, check in was quick and easy and everything was explained to us. We had a lovely big room Breakfast was great. On the negative side. The hotel is really looking tired and scruffy, the outside looks bad, paintwork peeling etc. Our room, the bed was awful!!! We have always felt these beds are really comfortable, but neither myself or hubby slept well on any of the 3 nights. The bathroom really needs some TLC. there was mould round the bath, the flooring was bubbled, we had no cold water (but that was fixed) It was a triple room but the lighting was shocking, some of the bulbs needed replacing and there just wasn't enough lighting in the room. Like I said, we have stayed here many times, and we will stay again as it is in the perfect position for what we need but please, spend some money on the place!
