Perfect Guesthouse in a great location, with a lovely garden & really like the garden rooms. Plus a great breakfast, with attentive service. The owner offered lots of local knowledge - including a special restaurant, just a short walk away.

over the years we have stayed often at marula lodge, and always enjoyed the experience. this year was no exception. we stayed 3 days, walter is great fun, swimmimng pool, bed, sunbeds, shower and everything else just what was needed. see you again in january next year.....

Simply perfect. Walter was truly the best host ever, always helpful with great recommendations (we had the best ostrich steak dinner a few hundred meters from the lodge - he even made us reservations!) and local style tour advice through the wine country. The decor was gorgeous, everything super comfy, amazing pool and grounds, incredible breakfast, and the nicest staff. Highly recommended and we will be back for sure!

My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The gardens are lovely. And the welcome, service and breakfast faultless. I would definitely recommend it.

We already stayed here some years ago, when the lodge's pre-owner Marion and Phil owned this house, so we were exiceted whether the charme and the standard will be the same. Fortunately nearly anything has changed; Marula Lodge and its host Walter May (an original German guy born in Kiel) is a perfect host and he will take of all your wishes and more. The beautiful decorated 7 rooms around the backyard-pool in the garden really let you relax from all the stress of your trip. This guesthouse is a perfect rest for a couple of days and also central base for your sightseeing-trips beside the busy regions. You can easily join a wine-tasting in nearby Robertson valley, visit Cape Algulhas with the most southern point of Africa and many more.

This lodge has one of the best hosts I have ever met. The day before we arrived, we were given tips for special stops. The facility is very well maintained. These were our last two nights on our tour. Thanks to Walter, we felt as if we had always lived there. We were able to end our vacation with a campfire. He also gave us tips for the trip to the airport. His staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The Marula Lodge was beautiful with stunning gardens and adorable bunnies. Such a beautiful little spot to just stop and enjoy life for a bit, the marula lodge staff are very friendly and helpful yet scarce enough that they aren't in your way. It is peaceful and tranquil, we had a lovely stay.
