This hotel 'ties hard' ... possibly a bit too much. The styling is all more Essex (lots of silver and bling) rather than seaside chic. We didn't have the EUR300 per person set dinners, but did get hit with EUR800 a night for a room including breakfast. Frankly, way too much money for what it was. Reception staff young and friendly, but came across as inexperienced. Insane amount of food for breakfast which was quite prescriptive and an odd mix of sweet and savoury dishes. Also, major issue was lack of any real facilities (no gym or fitness etc.). Reception rooms/restaurant also has no sea view due to being blocked by the dunes.

The two real highlights of the Sölringhof are the location on the dune and the wonderful staff. The house has the character of a stylish guesthouse. The rooms are small and most of the beds are located on a gallery in the roof, which can only be reached via a steep staircase. Even in the usually cool weather, it is always too warm to sleep up there. In our room, the heating, which was boiling hot even in summer, could not be turned off. Although we asked for help four times, nothing happened. Breakfast and dinner are of the highest standard, the service is warm and omnipresent. If you don't care about going to the bar or pool in the evening and are happy with the wonderful nature, including storms, this is the place for you. Even if it lacks the typical facilities of a 5-star hotel, we felt very comfortable and would gladly come back.

Ein absolute Topadresse, wenn man Entspannung und ausgefallene Kulinarik verbinden möchte. Wir waren 5 Nächte im Sölringhof und aßen auch 2 Abende im Restaurant. Wir fühlten uns zu jeder Zeit am richtigen Ort. Der Tag begann jeweils mit einem sehr aufwendigen und aussergewöhnlichen Frühstück, was wirklich kaum einen Wunsch offen ließ. Abends genossen wir 2 verschiedene Menüs, welche sowohl von der Speisezubereitung und auch dem Service absolut perfekt waren. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und freuen uns jetzt schon darauf.

Wir sind heute in Sylt angekommen und dies war unser erster Abend. Es war ein Erlebnis, eine Freude, etwas Besonderes. Das Essen war fantastisch und in einer Form serviert, die ihresgleichen sucht. Aber nicht nur Jan-Philipp Berner sondern das ganze Team hat sich mit einer Freundlichkeit und Leichtigkeit umsorgt, so dass wir uns einfach wohlgefühlt haben.

Wieder einmal ein perfekter Eindruck: Es startet mit einem herzlichen Empfang, nebst Ausräumen des Autos und Verbringen des Gepäcks. Zimmer - wie immer absolut - tadellos. Turndown erfolgte geräuschlos und effizient. Frühstück einfach unschlagbar. Massage durch Frau Wolff-Köcher perfekt, Spa wunderbar. Auch das Auschecken voller Herzlichkeit. Mache gerne eine Woche Homeoffice hier, aber auch gerne wieder mit Familie.

So gespannt wie selten,traten wir unseren diesjährigen Sylt Urlaub (Sölring’hof )an. Ist es noch die Insel auf der Insel die wir über die Jahre so lieben gelernt haben ? Unter Johannes King war es immer so ! Der perfekte Gastgeber. Diese Lücke kann aus unserer Sicht nur einer schließen (herzlichste Grüße nach Zermatt) . Es war also eigentlich nur die Frage, ist der Fußabdruck des Herrn King zu groß ? Und ganz klar, dieses übermenschlich positive Energiebündel fehlt. Uns zumindest. Dennoch : was nach wie vor da ist - der formidable Ort, ein wunderbares und perfektes Frühstücksteam, herzliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter überall, geräuschloses und präzises Housekeeping und ein Restaurant mit Service- und Kochteam , sowie Weinkeller, welches seinesgleichen sucht ! Fazit : Wir bleiben Fan vom Sölring’hof , kommen garantiert wieder und freuen uns auf das nächste Mal.

Liebes Sölringhof Team, Was soll ich sagen...Es war wieder großartig. Nach 2 Jahren erzwungener Abstinenz wieder in den Sölring Hof zurückzukommen ist ein unbeschreibliche Gefühl gewesen.Ankommen,ein Glas Champagner in der Hand mit Blick auf die Nordsee,mit dem Gefühl bei den tollsten Gastgebern "zuhause "zu sein.Dafür noch einmal herzlichen Dank an alle guten Geister des Hauses,die das möglich gemacht haben. Angefangen mit einem grandiosen Frühstück. Danke an Bernd Vorstadt. Danke an die "unsichtbaren"Damen,welche das Zimmer herrichten. Anscheinend bekommen sie am Morgen einen Wink,dass der Gast gerade beim Frühstück sitzt. Danke an die Damen an der Rezeption,die jede Bitte und sei sie noch so ungewöhnlich mit einem Lächeln erledigen Danke an den wunderbaren Gastgeber Jan-Philipp Berner,der gemeinsam mit seiner "Küchenbrigade" am Abend großartige Genussmomente gezaubert hat. Man kann es nur als das Sölring Hof Gefühl beschreiben und freut sich schon auf das nächste Mal. M.Gürtler
