L'Auberge Taghazout

Dreadful place. Bore no relation to its description. No wardrobe, no table, no cleaning, no linen change. We were booked for 13 night and checked out after 4. We are £700 out of pocket and neither the hostel ( it’s not a hotel) nor the site we booked it on (beginning with B) will refund us.

Mouldy, Falsely advertised, dirty don’t come here. excited for our ‘private terrace’ that was listed under our room details, unfortunately didn’t exist. I received a WhatsApp confirming my booking, arrival time was asked, i gave a 3 hour time window and still received two whatsapp’s asking for a more precise arrival time which i thought was weird. On entering the room we noted a funny smell: mould masked with cleaning spray. the mould smell got worse and worse - in our room and in shared areas, mouldy and dirty. Overnight the whole room was so humid and moist because the door doesn’t close so it’s no surprise, also means it’s very loud. The “private bathroom” (1-2m2 ) is a shower with a toilet inside (also mouldy.) no towels, we asked, he said they will be brought soon. 5 hours later, towels reluctantly shoved in our face from behind a curtain after asking again. towels and sheets are stained. This place is a hostel which is fine, but the advertising and prices are dishonest. We asked about breakfast due to dietary needs and answer was: moroccan breakfast” we enquired about surf lessons or a good surf school and the answer was “meet me here tomorrow at 10am, it costs 30 euro.” minimum effort attitude. Don’t waste your money and risk getting sick from mould! find something better. We left after one night. The reception guy was nice and tried to be helpful and we sent a complaint to the manager but it’s been ignored until now. I don’t think we will get a refund. Terrible experience!! Absolutely a joke that you can book hyatt or riu palace for 20-30€ more per person and with breakfast and basic hygiene included! Never again

Great location directly on the fisherman's beach. Warm welcome and delightful staff- very helpful and friendly. Restaurant here remains closed bit there is a place next door that serves a fab breakfast. They donoffer to deliver a breakfast to your room bit this is poor quality when compared to what is available next door. Simple accommodation. Spotlessly clean. Great views. Only downside- the tractor 🚜 that takes the little fishing boats to the sea cranks up early morning !

I feel this is a bit of a “best kept secret” in Taghazout. The hotel is right on the beach and perfectly positioned to walk north or south along the beach every sunrise and sunsets there’s a common terrace on the top floor with a gorgeous view and the bedrooms are a great size for two people. The best thing about this hotel is the management staff. Khalid and zak where incredible hosts and took amazing care of me. I couldn’t rave about them enough is sorting everything out for me. I was so grateful to stay here and would only stay here when I go back 😊

This is more of a backpacking hostel than a hotel and did not live up to our expectations at all, especially as it's not the cheapest place. The rooms and bathrooms are very small, the sheets on the bed were ripped, there were no towels provided and the staff, whilst I'm sure they meant well, seemed inexperienced and young. The breakfast was poor with instant coffee and supermarket food - for the same price, just next door, you can get home made Moroccan style breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh espresso. Deeply disappointing. The auberge is also situated in a very noisy location and not all rooms have air conditioning so it was hard to sleep. We ended up leaving a day early just to get a good nights sleep.

The staff are fantastic, always giving a high standard of service with a smile. The place inside is very clean, and again the lady cleaner is very friendly, and does a superb laundry service. We had a great 5 night stay, and witnessed world championship surfing.
