Taipei Zhongzheng District 5-star Hotels

My recent stay at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff offered warm, attentive service, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable, with stunning views of the city skyline. The hotel’s facilities were top-notch, including a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing spa. Dining was equally impressive, with a wide variety of delicious international and ********* dishes. In summary, the Sheraton Grand Taipei provides a luxurious, seamless experience with outstanding service, facilities, and dining. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Taipei.

Good hotel, comfortable family room. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. 15mins walking distance to Ximending walking street, very near to a 24hrs carrefour which is just diagonal to the hotel (crossing 1 big road). Free “all you can eat” snacks for hotel guests, the kids were super happy and enjoying.

it is a very outdated hotel to be considered 5 star. felt more like an average 4 star hotel. I guess its close proximity to Taipei main station gave it its legacy 5 star rating. also credits to housekeeping for regular daily cleaning of room. downsides: double bed was queen size. was really expecting a king size for a 5 star hotel. headboard above bed was extremely dusty to the touch, and led lights tend to flicker randomly. bathtub + shower is an outdated concept, small shower area to stand in the bathtub is so uncomfortable. furnishing generally looks outdated. worst of all, when all lights are switched off, only a creepy red light (probably from the smoke detector) remains lit right in front of the mirror facing the bed. makes you feel like something gonna jump out from the mirror. horrible experience. you're better off paying a similar price by finding a 4 star hotel which is 2-3 stops away from Taipei main station, potentially bigger rooms, a more comfortable bed and newer fittings.

Super conveniently located, directly above Taipei Main Station which gives great access to the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, as well as the Bannan Line. There was also the vast Taipei Underground mall that leads to many locations, like Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Station, and Breeze Taipei Station, so one is never bored and there are places to go even in inclement weather. As for the hotel itself, let's just say it DEFINITELY has its charms. The décor is quaint and aged, and the room definitely is showing it's age, but the aesthetic was not necessarily a negative. It's just a certain kind of charm that takes awhile 2 appreciate. Age and décor aside, the hotel totally makes it up with it's service. The staff were very attentive, efficient and friendly. From the front desk, concierge, down to the wait staff at the breakfast restaurant, we were treated very warmly. As for the negative, the air-conditioning is actually central and when we checked in, our room aircon was not cold and was rather warm, turns out that the filter was very dirty and not well-maintained, but kudos to the maintenance staff who was quick and efficient in trying to rectify the issue. Throughout our stay though, the aircon still had its ups and downs, but that is what was to be expected from a central aircon system I guess. Overall, very much recommended for its location and service.

Super near to ZhongXiao Dunhua exit, but needs to turn in from main road to see the entrance. Entrance is hidden from main road. Small hotel lobby, big comfortable room with huge bathroom. Bed is super king, can fit 4 persons. 2 big and 2 small. Comes with bathtub. Price is reasonable. Breakfast is delicious, worth it. The staff really puts in efforts to make breakfast enjoyable, with small plants on the tables every day. Can try again for next stay.

At checkin, room was smelling of rotten milk, and it was very cold (18 Celsius). I asked the front desk to change room, they said no, they don’t have any rooms available (there are maybe 100 rooms on my floor alone…) When I told them it’s too cold, they said I should turn off the AC. I said it’s off, they said it must not be, they “advise” me to check again. I checked 3 times, turned it on and off. The front then said they will give me an extra blanket… not once did anyone come to the room to check the smell or AC themselves. Also, they don’t have heating at all, so I had to warm the room with my body temperature only… ***. At night the pipes make noises, and the smell never went away. They also charge to store your luggage. Very disappointed by the hotel cleanliness and service. It was so unaccommodating. They told me it’s a basement room, so the smell is normal. ***… Room has mirrors in the ceiling. I think it’s love hotel.

We had 6 people total so had two rooms and one room was in the newly built part of the building and the other one was in the old building. Room in the new building is much cleaner and lights are brighter. Room in old building lights are much deemer and bathroom is too old. No bottle of water, they provide water dispencer in every floor. Worst soap I ever smelled in any of the hotels. The receptionist who checked us in was very unclear with her question because we had two rooms and originally booked one family room with one king bed and 2 single beds and other room with a king bed. She asked whether 2 beds are ok and I thought she meant for the king bed as she finished with a sentence saying the king bedroom needs to be checked in later. So when we went up to the family room, I see 2 beds instead of my original request, went down to ask why and she gave me an attitude saying “didnt I ask whether 2 beds are ok” I was actually shocked with the way she approached me, did not try to clarify in a nice manner. Sorry but never going back. The photo is for the room in new building. Even if the room (new building) is clean if the service is bad, I never want to go back.

Hotel was recommended by an acquaintance. Location was very good with easy access to MRT Beimen station and Taipei main station on walking distance. Check-in went very smoothly but the hallway was too dark so it was difficult to find/read my room number! Except that the room was good with sufficient space and nice bed/bath and most importantly, no noise could be heard from other rooms. Breakfast was nothing spectacular but no complaints either.

I love the self check in because it is very convenient. Plus you can store your luggage with lock if you came in early. There are assistants too near the self-check in. I will choose here again if i came back to taiwan.

I stayed at **Just Sleep Hotel Ximending** with my family from December 10th to 15th, and while it had its positives, there were a few aspects that would make me hesitate to stay here again. You’re surrounded by shops, restaurants, and entertainment, so it's ideal if you want to be in the middle of the action. #### Room: We stayed in the **Superior Family Room**, which was spacious and comfortable for our family of four. The room had a modern design, with comfortable beds, a TV, a mini-fridge, and a desk. The bathroom was a bit tight, but it worked well for our needs. The shower had good water pressure, and everything was clean and in good condition. #### Service: The service was friendly and helpful. The staff at the front desk were always ready to assist with recommendations for local attractions and were prompt in fulfilling our requests for extra towels and pillows. #### Amenities: The **breakfast** was okay, but not impressive. The buffet had a basic selection of both Western and ********* breakfast items, but it became repetitive, and the quality could have been better. It was just enough to get by, but nothing memorable. One issue that affected our stay was the **noise in the lobby at night**. It often felt like a social hangout spot, with a large group of people drinking beer and playing games. It wasn't always clear if all of them were hotel guests, and the noise was quite disruptive, especially for anyone trying to relax or sleep. If you're sensitive to noise, this might be a problem, as the lobby area gets pretty lively late into the night. #### Overall Experience: While **Just Sleep Hotel Ximending** offers great value for its central location and the rooms are generally comfortable, the noise from the lobby and the underwhelming breakfast left a bit of a negative impression. Based on this experience, **I probably wouldn't stay here again**. I would likely choose a hotel that's even closer to Ximending, with quieter surroundings and a better breakfast. Would I recommend it? If you're looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Ximending and don't mind some noise in the evenings, it could work for you. But for a more peaceful stay, I’d recommend looking at other options.
