Shanxi Hotel must be given a five-star rating. We arrived very late at night, and the hotel was already lit. The courtyard was ancient and the hotel lobby was magnificent. The hotel itself is located out in the far Northeast of the city, in a quiet location, but easily accessible by the fast roads. It is opposite a shopping mall with everything you need such as coffee shop, fast food etc. Conveniece store also just across the street. Check-in was easy and straight-forward and the hotel is clean and modern. The room was well-appointed with everything I needed and the best thing was the amazing bed, which was super-comfortable! Breakfast is excellent and has both Western and Chinese buffet options. Plenty of choice here! Service was fantastic for this stay. The second day we had a power blackout for an hour or so because of engineers across the street. The staff dealt with it very well and made sure I was looked after. Swimming pool is good too. Recommend.

The sound of firecrackers during the Chinese New Year is not too obvious. In the summer, you can take a walk in the lawn area behind the hotel. There is a Dazhanggui Restaurant next to it. It is three kilometers away from Wanda Plaza and is convenient for shopping and dining. The room attendant Gai Xiaodang and Fu Honghong gave me millet porridge and the restaurant waiter Mile gave me a small gift. I was very satisfied with the whole stay. Recommended!
