When I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel. This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting. I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it. I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.

Reception: On the day of check-in, there was a cold current and the weather was extremely cold. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were deeply moved when we saw the owner standing at the door to greet us, even braving the cold wind to help guide the parking. Breakfast & Dinner: I wonder if this is the legendary "Japanese Kaiseki" cuisine? As far as I am a foreigner, it must be! Kamazuki rice is paired with seasonal/local handmade side dishes, non-staple food, etc., colorful And it also has a delicious feast. Every dish can feel the intention of the host's preparation, and the content is introduced one by one when the dishes are served, which is a very special feeling. Bathing: Although the wooden bathing pool is not big, it has a simple beauty and the environment is clean and tidy. The only fly in the ointment is that the facial tissue and moisturizing products on the dressing table of the women's bath have long been used up, but they have not been replenished in time. Other deficiencies: After soaking in the hot spring, when I returned to the room, I was surprised to find that the host had carefully prepared red bean soup, which not only warmed the stomach but also warmed the heart. Overall: If you come to Amano Iwato, it is recommended to stay here for one night. Not only is the location good, you can see the Amano Iwato Shrine by opening the window, and you can also take a leisurely stroll to Tianan Heyuan early in the morning to fully enjoy the special local scenery , In addition, the hotel's considerate service and delicious meals are definitely a different experience from Western-style restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at Hana Ryokan Iwatoya. This is an older but nicely managed family hotel. Dinner was outstanding. Room is traditional and therefor nice. The Onsen is small but ok, bath in the room the smallest we had ever seen but soo cute ! Free parking behind the hotel. We will come back if we are in Kyushu again !
