Peaceful hotel in the middle of the jungle. The lodges are super spacious, luminous et well furnished. The owners are super helpful and kind. Nice swimming pool, it was a pleasure to stay at GrandFather

We spent only one night in this hotel and we loved the setting, the comfort of the bungalow and the hospitality of the staff. We found what was advertised. We recommend!

A good hotel, but the price/quality ratio is 3.5. Very simple breakfast, not at all for the price per night. The rooms are spacious, a little "tired". The hotel grounds are well-kept, there is a swimming pool. Quite far from the sea, 15 minutes by bike. Nearby, within walking distance, good restaurants for dinner.

Overpriced. They position themselves very highly, but in reality, there is a coffee machine, but they couldn’t make coffee, there are mosquito doors, but they close poorly and don’t close all the way, frogs scream under the window. Thai service, but it could be very good...

Very nice family resort. Clean and comfortable bungalows around a swimming pool. Popular by older people and young couples with children. You need your own transport or rent a motorbike(available at-the resort) for dinner, although the snapper restaurant is at walking distance. The resort restaurant only serves breakfast, Tip: the resort staf is happy to arrange transport (taxi) at very reasonable price to Phuket, Ranong, Kao Sok etc..

We stayed for 4 nights with 2 young children (1 and 7 years old). We arrived after a very long trip flying into Phuket from Amsterdam. We were the only guests staying before they closed for the season, but we never felt not welcome. On the contrary ;-)Mr Aom and his family took excellent care of us. We stayed in the family house on the ground floor which with our kids was great. Really really comfortable beds. They did not have a baby bed but provided us with a small matras that we put of the floor of the second bedroom. On our request they made us a daily breakfast that was simple but homemade and more than enough to start our day. You will need transport to get around Khao Lak as everything is spread out. We rented scooter from the resort. We really enjoyed Memories Beach bar, could easily have spend a day there. Best food we had was at Krua Thai restaurant, probably best in all our holiday, so do make the effort to go there. Also easy to spend a whole afternoon as the beach is gorgeous. We took the jungle trail to Small Sandy Beach, which was challenging with the kids but the beach itself is absolutely worth it. You can also take the easy 400mtr dirt road (we didn't know that...) A couple meters from the resort is Happy Snapper, a lovely restaurant with a great garden to explore. We tried the night market in Khoa Lak but were a bit disappointed by the quality of the food. All in all we truly enjoyed our stay at Grandfather Resort and Khao Lak was a good choice for us. Mr Aom arranged our transport to our next stop Khao Sok which was all well taken care of. Thank you Mr Aom and your family and cat Gucci. Will recommend.

Can't believe no one has bothered to review this resort on TA for 3 years. The good news is the 5* rating is being maintained. A wonderful establishment tucked away at the end of a windy soi. Secluded and surrounded by tropical beauty. Fabulous family hosts, super clean rooms and a lovely pool. Excellent breakfast. Sealable containers for cereals, cashews and almonds. Fresh fruit, eggs to order, bacon, juices, top-notch lattes etc. Yum. No restaurant for lunch/dinner but lots of options in KL. One of the better ones, Happy Snapper, a few mins walk. We had a hire car so could come and go easily to KL's beaches/restaurants. You can hire mopeds/bikes here and we were provided with details of a local taxi driver that we did not need so car not essential. Great value. Don't hesitate to book.
