The service is impeccable and everything is considerate. You can feel it from the moment you arrive by car. The breakfast is very good. Other meals are economical and delicious. The room is within expectations. There are friendly cats accompanying you in the hotel. , but there is one thing that really needs to be dealt with. There is an electric leakage in the room, which is very dangerous. If the hair dryer is turned on at the same time during the shower, and the shower head comes into contact with metal such as the faucet, the shower head will get an electric shock. . . .

Mostly good.
Hotel transfer good, was waiting for us when we stepped out at the airport.
Breakfast very good, because many food items were rotated every morning, and all service staff were always ready to help out, food items were of good quality.
Room was big, bathroom huge, room cleaning good, and I was given a nice birthday surprise in the room.
Game activities were a little inadéquate, free bicycle usage was a bit short (1 hour). But all in all, quite good.
One item was not so good. A Thai Set Menu was advertised at the lobby, and we were looking forward to it. But each night when we stepped into the restaurant for 4 consecutive nights, we were told that the dinner option was not available, but the lobby advertisement made no mention of when it is available

Doesn't provide toothbrush/toothpaste until you request, they also don't give you sufficient as I stayed there 3night, asked to buy my own toothpaste.
But location is good if you want to be by the beach else it's kinda far from everywhere, best to have your own transport if you plan to go out, altho there is PAID shuttle service to ban hiang.
But this place knows how to squeeze you it's pretty in nowhere. They have a convenience shop at hotel front which is pricey.
Cleanliness is ok, but considering old hotel, you get some dirty corners. And bed was tad hard, tv limited channels.

The hotel is price-quality, compared to neighboring hotels, two to three times cheaper. Quite excellent for the money. First line, all windows facing the sea, the best piece of the beach. We mostly dined at our hotel and liked it more than at the much-praised restaurant next door. The massages are good, but if you look at the fact that the residents are mostly pensioners, then a hard massage is not needed. For dinner we walked along the highway along a separate path, which is rare for Thailand. Taxi 100 baht. But we love to walk so this was a big plus for us. They clean well, but you just need to put up a sign, they forgot to put it up a couple of times and were left without cleaning, but we must pay tribute to the fact that they left water, coffee, sugar, paper and garbage bags for us at the door. If I find myself in Khao Lak I will choose this hotel again.

The hotel staff speaks english and is very helpful. The villas are old and dated, internet access works only from the common area and you have plenty of stairs to climb. What this place has going for it is the location. It’s settled on a hillside and each little villa is overlooking the ocean combined with a tropical vegetation setting a beautiful accent. Unless you want to spend a fortune, there is no other place beating these views. I will come back.

GGuest UserThe hotel is not very new, but it is well maintained. The environment, service, and rooms are all very good. The service details are perfect. The beach outside the hotel is soft and long, and the sunset every day is so beautiful. In addition, the swimming pool and the thoughtful breakfast that can be ordered all day are also plus points. In addition, it was Songkran Festival, and the hotel warmly invited guests to participate in their celebrations, allowing us to spend an unforgettable festival together. Thank you very much. LLels257i booked this hotel for my birthday but never expected much. As soon as we reached the hotel, we were welcomed with a very friendly lady and served with wet towel and welcoming drinks. We were told that the room we’ve booked was overbooked and they are happily to change it to a new one. The least thing i was expected was, they gave a room with my birthdate as the number. and it was decorated nicely for my birthday. and of course with a complimentary cake and fruits😁 a lot of activities provided by the hotel, or you can just strolling around.. the view was spectacular! As we need to check out early to catch our flight, they packed our breakfast to go. Their service and hospitality is top notch! Highly recommended! and I plan to visit this hotel again for my next birthday!

PPommie JFirst warm welcome upon we arrived. The bambu bar was cool, too.The facilities we didn't use much. We just spent time in the pool because we booked the pool access room types. So overall, it is a pretty good bit lot of mosquitoes 🦟 when we get into the room that we were booked for, and everything was perfect. Just the mosquito is so annoyed during we at the pool or outside around. Well, there's nothing much to say because of surrounded.
Check-in was great. We have juice for welcome drink
Check out a bit slowly, but I do understand them as front desk duty say apologies to me. (I'm ok) 🫰At least the housekeeper should be sprayed or asmatch prepare in the room. Would be a better deal during rain season.

The service was ridiculously slow. We were charged service charge for any drinks ordered and told to wait to collect them rather than be delivered to us. Not sure how you can charge service charge for no service. The reception staff were not helpful when I wanted to use my Accor loyalty card and they said that points could not be added for the stay only the drinks as booked through Trip.com. The. When leaving we were not able to add the points for drink and food purchased.
We had to wait 20-30 minutes for each drink and any food ordered at the beach bar. It was a joke

The Khao Lak Marriott Beach Resort & Spa has beautiful, new facilities and aims for a five-star experience, but the service is still developing. I encountered an issue with the air conditioning, and the staff was dishonest about fixing it, leading to an upgrade only after a significant complaint. The breakfast was very good, and the Italian restaurant deserves compliments to the chef for its excellent food. The bakery is nice, but the staff strangely wouldn't allow me to order a burger from the restaurant next door. It might be a good idea for the General Manager to be more visible, perhaps making an appearance during breakfast, lunch, and dinner to interact with guests and get a better sense of the hotel's operations. While the resort has potential, the inconsistent service and the oddity with the bakery/burger situation need attention to truly live up to its five-star rating.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay:
Pros:
1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions.
2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings.
3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied.
4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors.
5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note.
6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings.

Cons:
1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests.
2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms.

Cons: Breakfasts could be more varied, especially in terms of fresh pastries.

GGuest UserThe best room i have ever stayed in Thailand for 30 years ....in its price range , obviously. And including higher categories. Spacious room , big balcony , thoughtful decoration , good bed , nice traditional furniture in a quite good state . Super clean , good cupboard, spaces and drawers to organise things. Everything has a quality appearance.
The building itself is well designed with open corridors and open reception area. Very good pool sorrounded by tropical vegetation . Although located near the main road, it is not noisy at all , with the exception of a few Moto GP drivers in the night .
now comes the BUT ......basically nothing is within walking distance , no shop , no restaurant , no massage , not mentioning the beach . Taxi is very expensive, Grab does not serve the area. Without means of transport , i would have felt quite lost there . Another point are the stray dogs at night in the remote street ...i would not feel good to walk there in the night .
