- have to ask for comb, outdoor slippers etc
- service level below average.. too many customers. difficult to get waiter attention at hotels, instructions sometimes poor (eg did not tell us that we had to pick up tennis rackets at lobby)
- that 100m pool has no service. apparently unless you stay in those pool access rooms you cannot swim there? that's fine but please do not advertise this as a feature since apparently most customers cannot go?
- water at Beach front is not free... you'll have to find your own towels etc. very little service."

"The service is impeccable and everything is considerate. You can feel it from the moment you arrive by car. The breakfast is very good. Other meals are economical and delicious. The room is within expectations. There are friendly cats accompanying you in the hotel. , but there is one thing that really needs to be dealt with. There is an electric leakage in the room, which is very dangerous. If the hair dryer is turned on at the same time during the shower, and the shower head comes into contact with metal such as the faucet, the shower head will get an electric shock. . . ."

"My overall experience was absolutely amazing. From the moment I arrived, every staff member greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm. The team went out of their way to make me feel welcome and relaxed, providing great hospitality at every turn. In particular, I have to mention Khun Kath – her kindness, attentiveness, and friendliness truly stood out and made my stay extra special. I always felt like a valued guest thanks to her wonderful service and the positive attitude of the entire team.
My room was perfect in every way: spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully appointed. The room had all the amenities I could possibly need. I really appreciated how well the room was maintained and how everything just worked. It was a peaceful space where I could unwind fully after a day of exploring the resort’s activities.
Speaking of activities, everything was very well organized. The resort offered a great range of fun things to do, and each activity was managed smoothly. My morning, the delicious breakfast which had a good variety of hot dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, and more. One small note: the grill restaurant was just average."

"Have to say we love staying bar Apsara, it's probably our 10 th time, you would think the staff would get to know you or upgrade you or even get you an early check in but no you just get that your room will be ready at two pm !!. Tried to ask for the general managers name to just recommend a few small changes that might help the hotel but apparently they don't have a general manager so I was told.
Renovated rooms are very well done 10 out of 10
Swimming pool s a nice but there seems to be a line of scum always around the pool I am guessing it's sun tan oil and it's a bit of putting."

"The hotel is price-quality, compared to neighboring hotels, two to three times cheaper. Quite excellent for the money. First line, all windows facing the sea, the best piece of the beach. We mostly dined at our hotel and liked it more than at the much-praised restaurant next door. The massages are good, but if you look at the fact that the residents are mostly pensioners, then a hard massage is not needed. For dinner we walked along the highway along a separate path, which is rare for Thailand. Taxi 100 baht. But we love to walk so this was a big plus for us. They clean well, but you just need to put up a sign, they forgot to put it up a couple of times and were left without cleaning, but we must pay tribute to the fact that they left water, coffee, sugar, paper and garbage bags for us at the door. If I find myself in Khao Lak I will choose this hotel again."

"Loved out stay in Bayfront Resort! A very private beach, which we felt is one of the best in Khao Lak. The seaside bungalow offered a great vantage point and (of course) convenient access to the sand. There were some older wooden walkways that clearly could use some TLC, but service staff were super hospitable and friendly, and the main Khao Lak town ***** is just ten minutes by foot, or 100ish thb for a taxi. Slightly upgraded breakfast options (especially vegetarian friendly) would be appreciated for our next stay here, but overall we were very satisfied."

GGuest UserThe hotel is not very new, but it is well maintained. The environment, service, and rooms are all very good. The service details are perfect. The beach outside the hotel is soft and long, and the sunset every day is so beautiful. In addition, the swimming pool and the thoughtful breakfast that can be ordered all day are also plus points. In addition, it was Songkran Festival, and the hotel warmly invited guests to participate in their celebrations, allowing us to spend an unforgettable festival together. Thank you very much. JJeanette VictorLa Flora was the 11th Hotel I stayed at since I left Taiwan on the 23rd July, 2023. And, I absolutely loved it! Our family enjoyed a lovely dinner while the sun was setting. It was wonderful to sit at the beach and have breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was great! We also enjoyed the pools a lot. La Flora is great for families. On arrival they asked for passports, out to the car to get, then voucher, out to the car to get, then a copy of my credit card.
Really was not happy with that and thought it unnecessary as they had details from booking as the room was paid for,it made me very uncomfortable.
The main swimming pool was large but had only one place to get in so was a long walk.
We ate outside the hotel at one of the many less expensive restaurants. Our view from our room in block 13 overlooked a dilapidated roof of the Thai themed restaurant, didn't compel us to eat there. The room itself was comfortable and clean and we loved the dressing gown, it's our thing. WiFi around the resort was good. Sunset memorable.
A great place for families that like a package holiday. Not for us.

The hotel's breakfast is varied and of very high quality. I was particularly impressed with the amenities provided in the room, such as snacks and the delightful cartoon-themed towels that changed daily. The hotel's beach is private, peaceful, and clean. Although the hotel is somewhat distant from the Khao Lak center, if you appreciate tranquility and truly want to relax, this is an outstanding option in Khao Lak right now.

PPommie JFirst warm welcome upon we arrived. The bambu bar was cool, too.The facilities we didn't use much. We just spent time in the pool because we booked the pool access room types. So overall, it is a pretty good bit lot of mosquitoes 🦟 when we get into the room that we were booked for, and everything was perfect. Just the mosquito is so annoyed during we at the pool or outside around. Well, there's nothing much to say because of surrounded.
Check-in was great. We have juice for welcome drink
Check out a bit slowly, but I do understand them as front desk duty say apologies to me. (I'm ok) 🫰At least the housekeeper should be sprayed or asmatch prepare in the room. Would be a better deal during rain season.

LLily in wonderlandMy family and I just stayed at the JW Marriott in Khao Lak and had a fantastic experience! The rooms were spacious, with big, comfy beds and natural product toiletries. Every morning, the breakfast spread was delicious and varied, featuring freshly squeezed juices and authentic Thai coffee made with high-quality ingredients. The kid's area offered daily activities, and bike rentals were easy; I highly recommend biking around the beautiful gardens. The service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. The pool area was impressive—it's the biggest pool I've seen at any property! Plus, direct beach access was a wonderful bonus. If I return to Khao Lak, I would definitely stay here again with my family!

CChayadaDuring our stay, we noticed a few service issues that we’d like to share for your improvement. For example, the receptionist is usually the first impression of any hotel. As Thai guests, we naturally expect polite and respectful communication, especially the consistent use of “krab” when speaking. However, the receptionist only said “krab” once, at the very end of the conversation. It felt unusual, and we weren’t even sure if he was Thai. This small detail made the interaction feel less warm and professional than expected.
Another issue we experienced was with the à la carte dining. We placed our order and waited for 40 minutes without any update or communication from the staff. When we finally asked about the delay, we were told we’d have to wait another 30 minutes. Only after that did the staff consult with the manager and offer us some food from the buffet, but at that point, it was already quite late and there weren’t many other dining options nearby. Ms. Bowy, the Restaurant Manager, kindly offered us a cocktail or some drinks, but what we really needed was food. She later offered a 20% discount for that meal, which we appreciated, but the whole experience was disappointing.
Lastly, during breakfast, we understand it was a long weekend and the hotel was likely busy. However, since occupancy can be anticipated, we believe better preparation could have been made—both in terms of staffing and seating arrangements. When we mentioned the crowd and the wait for a table, the staff simply said, “You should come earlier for breakfast,” which didn’t feel like a very helpful response.
We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and setting of the property, but we hope these comments help in improving the overall service experience for future guests.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak and overall, it was a delightful experience. Here are the pros and cons of my stay:
Pros:
1) Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is located in a prime spot, just a short distance away from the main tourist area. This allows for a peaceful and tranquil stay while still being conveniently close to all the attractions.
2) The hotel itself is a beautiful boutique establishment, with a charming ambiance. From the moment you step into the entrance lobby, you are greeted with antique decorations that add a touch of elegance to the surroundings.
3) One of the highlights of this hotel is the Michelin 2022 and 2023 chef who prepares authentic Nonya cuisines. This is a culinary experience not to be missed, and the restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied.
4) The hotel is surrounded by many amenities and local food options within walking distance. This makes it convenient for guests to explore and indulge in the local flavors.
5) The breakfast at Hotel Gahn Khao Lak is simple yet delicious. It offers a variety of options to suit different preferences, and it's a great way to start your day on a positive note.
6) On a hot day, the hotel's refreshing little pool is a fantastic spot to take a dip and cool off. It provides a relaxing oasis where you can unwind and enjoy the tropical surroundings.
7) The owner and staff of the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay and are always ready to assist with any queries or requests.
Cons:
1) One issue I encountered during my stay was the presence of lizards and flying pests, especially in rooms with balconies. While this may be a common occurrence in tropical settings, it can be unsettling for some guests.
2) The housekeeping service could use some improvement, particularly in terms of towel change and cleaning of used cups. It would be beneficial if these aspects were given more attention to enhance the overall cleanliness of the rooms.

Pros: The hotel boasts a large, well-maintained area with a beautiful landscape design. It has everything: direct beach access, a picturesque stream, and even a lake. The rooms are very clean, modern, and truly meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. Daily housekeeping ensures impeccable cleanliness. The charming bridges connecting different parts of the property add a special touch. Walking across them feels like being in untouched jungles. The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there’s a cozy beachside café nearby where you can have lunch or dinner while enjoying the sea view. The resort’s territory is full of life: you’ll see many butterflies and even friendly monitor lizards wandering around, adding to the tropical paradise vibe.
Cons: Breakfasts could be more varied, especially in terms of fresh pastries.
Good to know: The nearest 7/11 or town café is about a 15-minute walk away (there’s a sidewalk). If you prefer not to walk, a taxi costs 100 baht.
The closest self-service laundry is a 15-minute drive away (400 baht).
Overall, Khaolak Wanaburee Resort is a perfect choice for those looking to relax in harmony with nature while enjoying comfort and quality service. Highly recommended!

RRolfieAvoid Seascape Rooms Entirely - Lighthouse Works (If Upstairs!)
Our initial ”Seascape” room was uninhabitable:** overpowering mould/must smell caused breathing difficulties (tight lungs) within 30 minutes. Combined with noisy transformers outside, we fled immediately.
Staff moved us *free* to their ”Lighthouse” hotel across the road. **Beware the ground floor:** our Lighthouse room had the same severe damp/mould issue. **After one awful night, we paid extra to upgrade to a 3rd-floor sea view room.**
**This saved the stay:** The upstairs Lighthouse room was fresh, clean, comfortable (great beds/linen) with lovely views. Free water on each floor was appreciated. We extended from 5 to 7 nights here.
**Serious Issues Remain:**
1. **Seascape Building:** Avoid entirely - severe mould makes it unfit.
2. **Lighthouse Ground Floor:** Same mould/damp problem. **Only higher floors are acceptable.**
3. **Pool:** Excess chlorine on Day 1 bleached my wife's black leggings brown. Check levels before swimming.
**Bottom Line:** Only stay if you can *guarantee* an **upstairs room in the Lighthouse**. Never accept any Seascape rooms or Lighthouse ground floor rooms. The hotel must fix pervasive mould issues.
