The camp is ideally located at three minutes drive from the park gate. Tents are comfortable equipped with comfy beds, shower and toilet, and the best...a wooden veranda which provides stunning sunsets. The hippos and crocs in the river are an added value to the stay. The owners, a lovely German couple with whom I had the privilege to chat deserve commendation. A heartfelt Thank You to the friendly staff who did their utmost to make my stay comfortable. From the eighteen safaris I undertook this one was the best. Good job, guys!!!

Overall, I cannot recommend this campsite enough. Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway or an adventurous safari experience, this place has it all. And with its great value, you cannot find a better place to stay in the Masai Mara. I will definitely be coming back here and I encourage anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience to do the same.

But the best part of my stay was the safari experience. The campsite has its own Landcruisers and guides who know the area like the back of their hand. They took us to the best spots to see the animals, and we were lucky enough to witness two lion kills and even saw crocodiles take down a zebra while trying to cross the Mara river. It was simply an amazing experience that I will never forget.

First of all, the cabins are absolutely amazing. With their own toilets and showers, it truly feels like you have all the comforts of home while being surrounded by the beauty of the Masai Mara. I stayed in Cabin No. 2 and was lucky enough to wake up to the sight of giraffes and elephants walking past, just across from a small river. It was a surreal experience that I will never forget.

We stayed here as a UK family with 6 and 12 yr old kids. The camp was great - the accommodation is not quite glamping- in military tents (thick canvas) pitched on a wooden platform with an in-built bathroom area (western toilet plumbed in); and proper comfortable beds. Friendly service and The food was pretty good, simple but good. The best bits were the fire (take marshmallows if you remember!) in the evening over looking the crocodiles and hippos in the river below (don't worry they'll never be able to climb up the steep bank and get over the fence at the top!) and across to the park (carabo storks and wharthogs)

It was a great place to stay due to its proximity to the reserve and the food quality. The service was also impeccable due to the ratio of staff to customers. Furthermore, the huts that one stays in as well as the general look of infrastructure had very fitting design that sat well with the environment. Right next to the river, one can see Hippos during the day quite often as well as many birds in the area. Moreover, the prices for the camp make it a great value proposition, especially when compared to the many overpriced alternatives.

We planned to camp at Crocodile camp with our own tent for 2 nights, however due to us being the only people there (low season in the Mara), they offered us a great rate on a tented camp. Being very stubborn I said we were there to camp so the first night we stayed in our own tent. The camping facilities are OK with a kitchen banda with 2 sinks (water flow not great), BBQ area and lidded bin. They very kindly let us use one of the tented camp bathrooms therefore we didn't use the campsite toilets or showers so can't comment on them. The campsite is not well located in our opinion, no views and wildlife is kept away by the camp guard. However the restaurant and tented camp have beautiful views over the river and into the National Park. The food was good and the staff are all amazing. We were looked after so well which makes me feel bad for giving 4 stars but the real downside of this camp is the noise! Talek is so noisy! There was loud music into the early hours. There are also dogs and donkeys making so much noise when hyenas or lions are nearby. The tented camp was better than the campsite for noise but it was still disruptive in the night.

Excellent service through out the whole 4 days we were there. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. The game drives were amazing, the hot air balloon was more than expected with champagne breakfast after with a detour to the leopard as a bonus. Honestly can’t recommend them enough, views and wildlife around the park is great. Always someone around to help with questions about hippos and friends.

We booked a safari with CALEB who works at Crocodile Camp. The next morning, the guide he arranged drove us into the park via an illegal route. When questioned, he said we couldn't go through the gate because the water was too high on that road. This sounded suspicious, so I asked him to exit through the gate on the way out--again, he refused. Back in Talek, Caleb arranged a car to take us back to Narok, pretended he had paid, and instructed the driver to take us around the gate once again. We listened to his lies for another week as he promised to show evidence of the tickets he had bought with the park fees we gave him (US$160) or refund the money- of course, neither ever happened. We will make an official report to the reserve staff, I write here to warn others against such scams: NEVER HAND OVER MONEY FOR TICKETS TO ANYONE EXCEPT STAFF AT THE GATE.
