This was our final stop on a three week tour of Sri Lanka and was designed as our relaxing downtime before the journey home. Accommodation: Our room was "The Boat" which had a large well equipped bedroom with large balcony overlooking the gardens and sea; the view somewhat limited by overhanging trees. Good, large bathroom with excellent shower. Public Areas: The pool and bar areas were lovely and well maintained. The pool is very shallow at one end, so suitable for small children. The hotel sits right on the beach, but the beach at this point is rocky. A short walk takes you to a beach area where you can swim. Stilt fishermen operate right in front of the hotel, so lots of photo opportunities. There are two excellent library/TV rooms, both really tastefully decorated and well stocked with books, etc. Restaurant: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are very good; although the lunch menu is somewhat limited. Dinner was good particularly when we treated ourselves to the excellent seafood platter for two; although the menu price is only indicative of final cost dependant on fish/shellfish available. Staff: We found all the staff to be friendly, helpful and competent. Particular praise to the General Manager, his assistant, chef and all the bar/restaurant staff. We would certainly return for another very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
