The room is clean and the hot spring is very good. There is white rice in the evening. There is free porridge in the morning. There are also 200 yen snacks. Small instant noodles are picked up. If you arrive early, no one may care about you. You can find a place to put your luggage. The bus should be seen clearly. The navigation is not necessarily this shuttle.
There are fewer restaurants near the hotel. You can go to the hot springs when you stay in the hotel. Although the facilities are very old, it is really comfortable to soak in the soup after hiking! ! The front desk does not speak English but the service attitude is very good, it is still very recommended

Although the location is relatively remote, the boss service is good, the spring quality is super good, it is a hot spring hotel that can be visited again.
The second time I lived, the last time was 8 years ago, the facilities were still clean and not significantly old. There is still the hospitality of traditional Japanese-style hotels. The hot springs are still good, and it is a relatively new hotel near the Dragon God.
When I arrived at Watase Onsen after dark in the evening, despite the language barrier, the uncle at the front desk took the initiative to use the translation software to explain in detail the use of the hotel’s facilities and the opening hours of the hot springs. Let us move in as soon as possible.
It is located in the countryside of Tanabe but the transportation is relatively convenient. This hotel is a member of the Secret Hot Spring Guardian Association, and the water quality of the hot spring is very good. The waiters were all local elderly people, and my lovely mother-in-law came to talk to me with a translator during dinner. The food is not luxurious, but it is still quite traditional and authentic Japanese home-cooked food.
Typical Japanese hot spring hotel. The bathing area is outside the hotel, and many Japanese people drive over. The open-air bath in the bath is very large, with 5 pools for men's baths and 4 for women's baths. The hotel has 4 family baths, which are free for hotel residents. Hotel guests have two keys, one is the door to the house, and the other is to open the family door. The hotel has a free shuttle bus from Shirahama Station. There is also a free shuttle bus to Kumano Hongu Taisha. The one-park-two-food set meal is quite satisfactory. Because the hotel is located in the mountains, there is nothing around it, so it can only bubble soup at night.
The room is quite satisfactory, the location can also walk a few minutes from jr, relatively quiet.
There is free coffee to drink, this is a small surprise. Because I had to catch the bus of Kumano Kodo the next day, I didn’t have time to eat breakfast, haha

Outstanding
GGuest UserThere was an open-air bath with color 々, and it was a very good hot spring to choose the type and time of 40 minutes. It was a consecutive night, but 1 During the day, when I was staying, I was busy with PC work, and I was disappointed that I could only go to the front desk on the first day of check-in and couldn't make a reservation for the hot spring. The staff were cheerful and kind, and when there was something, they casually told me 〜 and were all nice staff. It was not just a business hotel, it was not a bustling tourist hotel, and the furnishings and the inside of the hotel were old, but it was not only old, but it was a hotel where you could feel the taste. The staff was also a hotel man.
Zzll202002The room was very clean and the front desk service was good. We checked in early. As soon as we exited the station, we saw the hotel sign and walked to the right. It was not far from the station. I was very satisfied. There was a JR train timetable at the entrance, which was very warm. Thank you!
TTrissySince mu friend and I did a hiking trip, we walked to this accommodation. I think it would be better to drive or taking bus to there instead of walking. I really appreciate the outdoor onsen. The hotel is very close to the bus stop that taking us to our next hiking point, just a few minutes walk. There are some attractions nearby, like the big figure hanging on the bridge. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit them. If you’re staying here, you should arrive earlier and take a look at the surroundings. The front desk staff can speak Mandarin. So if you are a Chinese, you will find it easier to communicate. The hotel is very clean, because you need to change shoes everywhere.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a little off the beaten track, but fortunately it is close to the beach.
The food in the included meal is good, but you can't take out drinks, not even sugar-free cola. The most impressive thing is the Japanese breakfast buffet, which is rich in variety and delicious. I ate a lot.
The hotel facilities are relatively old, but they are well maintained, function normally, and are clean and tidy.
QQinglingThe location is still very good, the room is too small... The space planning is very compact and there is everything that should be there. The price is really cheap, so the overall price is very high, it is a good choice for us to stay for one night. The scenery of Kumano Ancient Road is really good
GGuest UserWhen there is no choice, I just make do with it. The dinner is quite sumptuous and the breakfast is a bit too much. 😆The surrounding environment of the hotel is good and there are open-air hot springs where you can soak.
AAnonymous UserIt is very close to the station, and you can even connect to the wifi in the room at the station (
A long history, but well-equipped, clean and tidy
The boss is also very nice, and the stay is very happy
GGuest UserKind of annex of the sister hotel next door. In the annex is an onsen, washing machine and dryer (free to use), vending machines with beer and drinks and noodles. Room is basic. I had a great view on the river. Small balcony, but dirty and no chair. The annex is okay to stay if you are hiking.
The best thing is the sister hotel. A great onsen with outdoor bath. Nice souvenir shop with a bit more food. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
They also provide bus services (bring and pickup to Hongu Taisha, the other onsen places, the trailhead busstop) which you can use! Just call them if you want to be picked up.
I did not realize Kawayu Onsen is a very small place with NO supermarket. If you did not book breakfast (served at the sister) bring your own into town or eat instant noodles.
There are 2 small restaurants with delicious local food.
GGuest UserThe room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.
The average price for hotels in Tanabe is AED 643 on weekdays, and AED 687 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
