We were so disappointed in our time at Mimi calpe. Our room was extremely cramped. The handheld shower had no curtain. The street noise is a problem especially in weekends. And there were no screens in the windows so we couldn’t get fresh air even during quiet hours. We’d planned to spend time in the gardens and pool. But pool was not cleaned. Garden furniture didn’t yet have seat cushions etc.

This property is extremely beautiful, an 1800s home converted into a hotel. The suite we stayed in was a 2 bedroom. It was comfortable with the exception that I would have liked a small sitting area. There is a tiny deck, however, as well as a patio with seating. The gardens were gorgeous, I wish I could have seen it in the late spring when the wisteria would be in bloom! The breakfasts were delicious. Youssef and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, nothing was too much to ask. Be aware that there are many steps around the property, it might not be right for infirm visitors.

From the staff to the location to the rooms and everything you can imagine it is just amazing If you plan a trip to Tanger and want to be close to the old city then this is the place for you. We had one dinner and it was so delicious, the breakfast was awesome. Warm and kind people there.

Surreal ! Beautiful, artistic, kitsch, quirky, heritage, comfort, nature,bliss all in one I loved staying here , it's gorgeous ,literally in the middle of a bustling city ,there is a quaint forest like home on a hill ....its an old Jewish house ,the old architecture is Beautifully preserved .the breakfast is moroccan and I thoroughly enjoyed it . I stayed in the menzeh Suite which has two bedrooms, 2 baths and one wc, it's nice and cozy The rooms face the street .if u shut all the windows noise isn't troublesome. If u are bored of 5 star hotel rooms and want to experience something authentic...... stay here It's an experience!

What a charming and elegant little hotel!! We loved it! The location is excellent and the hotel itself and staff were welcoming and super friendly. We had dinner at the hotel the first night, it was delicious! We will highly recommend Mimi Calpe to anyone visiting Tanger!

This is old world charm at its best. It is like staying in someone’s beautiful and well loved home. The staff are very kind and accommodating, especially Youssef who is the manager. We really enjoyed our stay here. We were here for three nights. Breakfast is generous, plentiful and included. Dinner is on request and also Very good but it’s not Michelin star place. They serve decent wine, not always the case in Morocco. You can also make your own drinks in their kitchen with duty free purchases! We totally did that. You can play your own music at dinner which we also loved.. There are alot of stairs as you enter so not good for mobility issues. Probably not good for older folks. Though all luggage is happily lifted and carried for you. The garden is just magnificent with flowing bourganvillea everywhere and a lovely view to the ocean. We were warned about street noise but it was very slight. We were not upset by it. This is a hotel that tells a story of old Tangiers. If you want five start comforts and a place where every door goes click, the Hilton would suit you better. Mimi Calpe is a hotel of character and distinction, a wonderful remove from commercialised travel.

From the moment you step through the door you’re transported into another world. Mimi Calpe is like being on a movie set. The decor oozes style and individuality, no two rooms are the same. The hammam and pool are a huge bonus. Tangier itself is a really interesting and laid back city and definitely worth a visit. We were a group of 4 friends. We stayed for 4 nights and dined in 3 times. The food is excellent! Youssef the manager was so smiley and helpful; nothing was too much trouble for him. He arranged dinner reservations, drivers and excursions and even took us to the studio of a world class artist. I can honestly say that Youssef made our trip unforgettable. All the staff at Mimi Calpe were wonderful!Thank you so much! Would I recommend this place? Yes! In a heartbeat! I’ve just been told to mention how comfortable the beds are!

My wife and I stayed at Mimi Calpe for three nights in September. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is charming, located among trees and tropical plants. The complex surrounds an old French villa - there are rooms and suites there and around the property. It does involve a lot of steps, so you might want to be sure where your room is located. Youssef, the manager, and his team are excellent and ready to help in any way. We ate dinner, two lunches, and breakfasts - the food is outstanding. Highly recommended.
