Dar Chams Tanja

This is a modern hotel designed in a riad style within the old medina. The staff is very very helpful and friendly and they can provide any sort of service you might need. The decoration in the common areas is beautiful, moroccan and modern. It is located in the residential area of the medina and within walking distance to the main attractions. The rooms have everything you need and are comfortable, but in my opinion they are a bit 'suffocated' since they do not have windows towards the outside, only towards the inside patio and that could make you feel a bit exposed. Also, there is no lift, so you have to use the stairs but it is only 4 stories tall. Please note that Tangier's medina is hilly, so you have to go up and down all the time and this applies to your way towards the hotel.

Dar Chams is beautifully located in the medina . It’s charmingly appointed with many restful areas including a pretty roof terrace . Noura and her team work hard to make sure their guests’ needs are well met

My husband and I and another couple stayed 4 nights in Dar Chams Tanja. It was beautiful, clean and spacious with many nice amenities. Both the breakfasts and dinners were delicious and beautifully presented and served by quiet and attentive staff. Eating on the rooftop terrace with a wonderful view was an added bonus. All of the staff was friendly and attentive to our needs but Noura, the manager was outstanding. She had many communications with me before our arrival and made herself available at all times during our stay. She was very professional and helpful, arranging for transportation on arrival and departure, recommending restaurants and authentic shopping as well as arranging guided tours of Tangier and Asilah. The tour guide she booked for us, Hamza was very knowledgeable and friendly and accommodated our schedule and all requests including assisting us with providing food for some of the homeless animals in the city and arranging for a camel ride on the beach. In addition, Noura acted as our liason with a tour company we had reserved before arriving. Her assistance was invaluable. We all loved our stay in Dar Chams Tanja and would highly recommend it. If we go back to Tangier we most definitely will stay there again.

My husband, teenage daughter and I LOVED the Dar Chams. Our rooms were beautiful with wonderful authentic Moroccan touches. My daughter and I splurged on the hammam located right at the hotel and followed it with a massage. WOW!! It was a great experience. The breakfasts on the rooftop were wonderful as was the dinner there - we were even able to get a bottle of wine. Nora was always helpful and a wonderful hostess. We highly recommend the Dar Chams. It was a terrific beginning to our Moroccan adventure. Thank you Dar Chams for your wonderful hospitality.

When you are looking for AMAZING staff, breathtaking views, unbelievable breakfast and ultra clean lines, rooms, etc Dar Chams is a place my family and i highly recommend. Nora was so helpful coordinating tours, answering questions and being such a delight to speak with! Please give them a try - you wont be disappointed - especially the top floor suite - enjoy!

Stayed at Dar Chams Tanja with my family (two children ages 7 & 9). The room was beautiful, spacious and fantastic breakfast on the rooftop. Best part was the welcome by Laura each morning - great ideas for tourism, finding the best guides, taxis and the warmest welcome. Fantastic service, without hesitation, I would return again to this hotel - we loved our stay.
