Staff were excellent. Room was quiet, bed was very comfy and the 5 star review was totally deserved. Check in was very easy from the friendly staff and as we were exhausted from the day, it was welcome to see the deep bath .lots of tea and coffee was supplied in the room and in reception. A short walk to the pub next door for a meal or drink. Great stay.

We stayed for 2 nights and had dinner both nights - I had read the previous reviews and asked for a quiet room upstairs at the back - we were in room 50 something and although far from reception - it was nice and quiet. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and all staff that we met were very helpful. Dinner in the attached Brewers Fayre was the usual - not spectacular but will keep you alive!! Breakfast was good and plenty of choice.

Stayed here travelling with family. Checked in was quick and no problems. Got 2 rooms for the 4 of us and the first thing we had to do was stand on the bed and whipe the multiple cobwebs on the wall over the bed, really visible so I'm really gob smacked how cleaners missed them....there was alot and we had to do both rooms. The room looked very tired all over and I dare not lift back sheets to check mattress after seeing the room. The bathroom was same....old and tired and not the cleanest. Toilet marks in one toilet...leave that to your imagination. On the carpet in the room was a large red stain...looked like blood so we spent the time in the room constantly wearing shoes wherever we went. Ate food in restaurant next door, staff nice but food awful 1 stars as bed was comfy. Unless the hotel has a refurbished would deffinitley not stay here again unfortunately.

Recently stayed for a competition in Sheffield. Just what we needed for a quick one night away. Great staff on welcome and they had water out because it was warm and offered us a sheet instead of a duvet which was a nice touch. Room was clean and breakfast was nice

it was ok . Room was very cold when I arrived at 3pm ish and took until about 10pm to even just warm up. Room was feeling a bit tired. Parking is good and I received a pleasant welcome from a real person. We didn't used the restaurant as the bar closes very early even for residents

I booked a family room for myself and children. The smell of mould hit you upon entering the room. The window was full of mould, which had spread to the ceiling also. The plug was also stuck down in the sink. There was no other suitable rooms available so I was left looking for another hotel at 6.30pm that evening in the area.

I stayed here a few weeks ago as I had a day operation in a nearby hospital so thought I’d stay the night before and then after the operation but ended up driving home rather than staying here and it was awful, only thing good about it was the receptionist was very friendly checking in. The room was dated, there was cobwebs, with a nice dead spider attached, the socket was hanging off and not working so is a complete health and safety issue, there’s only a tiny little electrical heater in the corner of the room, some chipped paint in the wall. There were 2 of us booked for 2 nights and there was only one set of towels. I was in a rush so didn’t get this raised with the staff in the morning as I had more important things so emailed them after my procedure this and that I wouldn’t be returning for my second night due to the standard of the hotel. They told me I couldn’t get refunded as I didn’t flag it with reception during my stay. I did flag it with the hotel via email rather than in person. I have only received £28 good will and been told they’re due to get a refurbish, I feel like that isn’t acceptable as I didn’t stay the second night. I haven’t got a reply to the email I last sent over a week ago stating that I did inform the hotel of the issues during the stay via email. I stay in premier inns about 3/4 times a year and they usually are exactly what I need, a clean basic room for a comfortable nights sleep but this hotel was a complete let down, even the bed was smaller. It just needs a complete refurbishment to fit in with the standards of other premier inns, it has completely put me off booking ones I haven’t stayed at. If staying there is a nice Indian near by called saffron lounge, I would recommend a visit.
