Property Description
The serene Taos Ski and Mountain Bike home is a quiet 2 acre sanctuary with expansive views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range to the edge of the Rio Grande river. The house is a split level duplex. Each level is fully private. You enter the upper property. You enter into the main room where Taos Mountain can be seen to your left while the Rio Hondo is 1 km in the distance. The Rio Hondo drains the melting snow from the Taos Ski Valley Resort located just 2O minutes up the road. Take in the views from the deck or sit back in the sofa with a warm fire in the wood stove. The master bedroom has a California King bed, full bath with subway tiles on two walls allowing for ample natural light into the space. The oversized kitchen has all the amenities and utensils you need to cook a delicious meal, including a full set of pots and pans, cookware, dinnerware, flatware, serving ware, drink ware, and linens. Please help yourself to organic coffee, popcorn and pasta in the jars on the counter. You can choose to make coffee in three ways: pour over, an Italian Bialetti or a French press. The wifi is strong and was trenched to the house so it would be as secure and consistent as possible. When working remotely, you will be able to download documents, stream movies, live events and Zoom. Taos Ski Valley has been featured in Outside Magazine's 2023 list of Best Places to Visit in the U.S. for Adventure! "Aside from its reputation for driving change, the main reason skiers flock to this resort in northern New Mexico is for the uncrowded, low-key vibe. That and the quick hike to steep chutes off the West Basin, bird’s-eye views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from atop 12,481-foot Kachina Peak, and the green-chile-stuffed breakfast burritos. . ." Outside Magazine. Location and Activities Tres Lomas is a quiet rural community just minutes from the World UNESCO Heritage Site of Taos Pueblo and the thriving art and food community of Taos. Right out the front door are hundreds of trails for mountain and gravel biking. You can leave your bike on the front porch and soak in a quiet peaceful time to recuperate after a long ride or hike. The Carson National Forest offers amazing hiking and camping and fishing while the Rio Grande is located just 2km to the west. At the Rio Grande you can find sandy beaches that allow for excellent swimming in summer or take a rafting and kayaking trip down the Rio for an exciting challenge on class 3 rapids. You can visit the nearby Manby Hot Springs (made famous in the movie "Easy Rider" with Dennis Hopper) for a relaxing soak. Then return home where you can look out over the spectacular scenery, the Rio Hondo flowing out of sight under a tree canopy and down to the Rio Grande just to the west of the house.
