What a lovely place to stay! We were going to see Snow Patrol at Forest Live, Delamere, so felt that The George and Dragon was an option to stay over, not too far away. We were not disappointed! The pleasant lady let us into our room a wee bit earlier than check-in time. We had an early tea before we left for Delamere, what a meal! We both had fish & chips, probably one of the best ones we have ever had!!! The chunky chips were amazing and the portion size of all that was on our plates, was amazing, my husband even left a few of the fab chips! I left a few more, I was stuffed!!! On our return, after an hour queuing to out of Delamere, the room felt so welcoming, we found the bed so comfortable, it was hard to get out of in the morning. The room was clean and tidy, very comfortable indeed. Breakfast again was so plentiful, delicious and the menu was quite different in choices. We would definitely stay here again if we need to be in the area for anything!

Fab location for story house theatre and the city centre, lovely warm room all in good order, nice warm bed, hot shower, didn’t realise the pub part was closed and being renovated but it didn’t matter to us as we were going out, staff lovely and explained everything, massive bonus was free parking, most places in Chester add another charge which is shocking , we booked to stay here because parking (2cars) was free, we will definitely stay here again for nights out in Chester , just the job

Not really a hotel but a pub with rooms. During our stay no room cleaning including waste paper and bathroom bins nor replenishment of linen, towels or bathroom materials was undertaken. I assume it was up to guests to ask. The initial supply of biscuits that accompanied the tea and coffee facilities remained the supply and once consumed that was very much that. The only dinner we ate was fine and breakfast when available were also OK although my coffee was unpleasant. The kitchen closed at 18:00 on Sunday and remained so on Monday morning requiring alternative dining arrangements had to be made in what is a small but otherwise pleasant village. At best this is a B & B establishment as a longer stay does not deserve the title of ‘hotel’ when hotel prices are being charged.

Lovely pub/B&B, with great food and ambience. The best chips I've ever had! Highly recommended. The rooms are comfortable, with plenty of space and lovely fluffy white towels and all toiletries supplied. Unfortunately for both my daughter and I, the beds were too soft. It's a lovely place to stay.

Recently stayed here for the night when attending a wedding at nearby Pryors Hayes. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and had all you need. We had a drink and some food in the bar downstairs, nice vibe and good food..the breakfast had a great selection to choose from and all freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend.

New management team since March 2024 so any reviews prior to that will not be relevant. We booked 3 rooms and I have to say the customer service was second to none - nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast and evening meal and both were cooked fresh and very good. They were also very accommodating of dietary requirements which makes for such a nice stay when you have these issues. We travelled into Chester the next day and the team were super helpful with travel suggestions which made it a very easy and stress free trip. The only thing that could have been better was the water pressure in my shower however the others in our group were more than happy with theirs. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here over the weekend as attending a wedding nearby and enjoyed everything from start to finish. Easy check-in, the room was spacious with a powerful hairdryer, mini fridge, tea, coffee ect and bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water and lots of amenities, beds were so comfy and everywhere was spotless, we had a lovely view of the village. Breakfast was so tasty, everything cooked perfectly and a small traditional was quite large and very filling. If that was your son staffing the dining room this morning he is a credit to you both, he was so polite and professional. Kenny, Cath EVERY member of the team were fabulous and went above and beyond. We had a problem with a taxi co. it was instantly sorted out, thank you. Well done on making The George and Dragon and lovely place to visit Most definitely would recommend even if just popping in for a drink.
