Princess Taurito

The hotel is located in nice quiet alcove outside the busy areas of the other towns in Gran Canaria. It faces a public beach, which is easily accessible, but does not have a beach of its own. The facilities are wonderful, clean and capable of hosting the hundreds of tourists that descend upon the hotel in winter. The pools are large and the gym is well equipped. The kids club and animation are adequate, but I have seen better. The food spread is huge and the quality is good, but it tends to be bland and not sufficiently spiced. Overall I would rate it 8/10 and would consider visiting again.

I will try to give the best possible description for our 12 night stay at this hotel. The hotel is all about appearance. They don't really care if the guests are satisfied or not. My review is based on our "dysfunctional room." The first day we came (30th December) when we tried to make check in the people working on the reception couldn't find us in the system even though my husband showed Qr code from booking on his email. The person said "Are you sure you booked your stay in this hotel " ‍♀️ "of course we are sure we paid quite a lot of money and we had the payment with us on a paper " after a while they found our booking. Room on 11th floor with amazing view but after showering we noticed the water doesn't run off and many times it was a flood in the bathroom, like a real flood. I think we complained about that more than 5 times, and that was like the first 2,3 days. Someone came to check and "fixed it" but it was not fixed so we complained again and we were sooo polite that i was thinking if it was someone else probably it will make such a scene there that they will get hundreds of benefits to please the customers cause it was not our fault that the toilet was not functional and we didn't want to "destroy the whole room" cause of water flood. Once at the reception they told us that maybe we could change our room if the problem was not fixed, but they didn't change our room unfortunately. I even told them that i don't care if I'm going to sleep in the reception or in a nice room cause i just want to take a normal shower and wash my hair without stressing that after 2min it will be "room with own pool" in the shower! The door of the room blocked like 6,7 times, so technical support came to "fix it." Imagine at 11 o'clock in the night, and they are on the door so loudly. The funny thing was that every time we reported that, they were saying on spanish, " Oh the same problem as always with that room," but they didn't know i understood Spanish. So even people knew the room was not functional they were still offering it like ***. Don't let people stay in those kinds of rooms! The good thing was the animation team. Very professional and always trying to gather people for some activities. A lot of activities for kids and good mini disco & kids club. Here, i would definitely give 10/10. Different varieties of food but sometimes tasteless. Two times for breakfast, the cucumbers and tomatoes were not fresh. Good organization for New Years Eve! (Amazing 5 course dinner, very fancy and professional) Good snack bar and fresh food there! Ice cream and desserts every lunch and dinner! The hotel is located on the beach but waves on the beach and the red flag every day was not so nice to see so we were going to "puerto de mogan" very often with q shuttle bus provided by the hotel. We decided that we would not come back again to this hotel, and next time, we will read the bad reviews first!

The resort was beautiful! The decor, rooms, views etc was perfect. Comfy bed, spacious room for a family and room amenities were great. The hotel grounds were well kept and it felt like paradise! A few complaints- first being staff do not explain what the essencia guests get- we had no clue about what we were paying for, that there was a private pool, separate restaurant etc- the staff at the front desk need WAY more knowledge on letting guests know what they can access and give somewhat of an orientation. The pool water was FREEZING. & I mean it was not bearable for myself, let alone for our toddler. He was so excited to see the splash park/water slide but would not even touch the water as it was so cold. The food is meh. Very repetitive, often cold/soggy and could use improvements. If you have young children- WARNING, this hotel is rather loud- you can hear other peoples doors closing from your room, we could hear rooms above and below us. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the beautiful views, beach and overall experience

Beautiful hotel, great setting. Staff are brilliant. We were there Christmas Day and enjoyed the Gala Dinner. The rooms are suitably appointed and the whole hotel is spotless. Looking forward to returning. A second bar in the busier evenings would be helpful.

DEC 2024, IF YOU HAVENT LEFT TO COME OUT YET, DONT BOTHER. Just arrived after months of anticipation and reeled in by their incredible marketing department selling dreams on Facebook etc… On arrival scaffolding still piled up out the front, No welcome drinks Essencia priority check in doesn’t exist Key fobs don’t work Rooms amazing but only on quick glance, after few hours of being in it, you realise it’s another typical Spanish rush job to get it re opened. Cold showers Bath emptied onto floor of bathroom Taps in sink plumbed in reverse Access to essensia restaurant denied on first night as need to book the day before which is pretty blooming impossible as can’t book unless at the hotel. No canopees No welcome drinks None of the extra stuff promised even exists. Member of staff quit on phone to her boss infront of us at reception (in Spanish) some of us “entender un pocco de lingo” Cold food Bun fight in regular restaurant In previous years they would have copious staff, seat you, serve you wine if you asked etc. Short staffed NO KIDS CLUB (not been built yet!!!) “Come to the disco room instead” No thanks, the kids club was amazing before and now been demolished and not re instated. On the plus tho, the kids water play area is amazing. Infact hotel could be, it’s “nearly there” but poor management from senior levels has led to everyone on the ground being thrown under a bus this week. Our kids waited hour and half for their food tonight and I had to be firm with the restaurant manager. He served my wife a raw (not rare) but cold in centre raw burger. My steak was cold and been on the side ages no one to bring it to table. Absolutely gutted. Kids upset, wife upset and all for what, some poor management. Other issues include Air con not working No new towels for pool One bar with no direction and angry staff at their whitts end and ready to quit as no help from above. One bar for 100s / 1000s of customers. A disgrace. Go to kids disco and bar is now permanently closed, so have to go back and queue 45m for a drink. They should never have opened: Or at least: Opened for cheap, to Guinea pigs to dry run it. Spent 3 grand on this and a week off work unpaid to be here. Tv was smashed too. Seriously: they hung a smashed telly and thought it would be ok.

Find myself a very tolerant person and normally let things slide but this holiday has left a bad taste in my mouth ! We stayed February 2025 . We have stayed in the princess sister hotel in maspslomas so we were expecting great things. Sadly , as a family we got very sick (d and v) this was food related , the hotel tried to tell me only a small minority of the hotel was ill and the notovirus played a part. Several guest we spoke with said they had also been unwell. The pool floor tiles are coming off ! We were on the 10th floor and I complained twice about smell of the air conditioning (awful , like bin juice) but in the end we just turned it off as it was never resolved . We queued daily ! after our long flight to get the Keyes for the room , for dinner / lunch and breakfast. Service was very slow tables were left with dirty dishes and food even the pool area was dirty. We payed a lot of money for a this holiday / hotel you expect the standard to be higher than what we received. The only great thing was the weather ! Sadly I will be reading other reviews before booking with this group again . Very disappointing Tui I would worry if I was going in the height of summer when the hotel is full !
